Like its Oolong namesake the Bodum Oolong Teapot is an example of meticulous process control during manufacture. Oolong tea starts with a late spring harvest of hand selected leaves that are sorted and spread to dry. Then a vigorous shaking process known as withering is carried out by hand in baskets. The shaking bruises the edges of the leaves and begins the oxidation process. Then the tea master halts the oxidation by gently roasting the leaves. The leaves may be rolled and fired several more times until a final roast yields the tea masters perfect Oolong. This attention to detail and materials is reflected in the Bodum Oolong teapot. The Danish design incorporates a chrome plated steel casement, a durable, heat-resistant borosilicate glass carafe, and bpa-free plastic filter, lid and handle. All parts are dishwasher safe. The large see-through filter is easy to remove when your loose leaf tea has finished brewing or leave it out for brewing bagged tea. Choose a size appropriate for your tea service: either 34oz or 51oz capacity.
