Essential Info:
The Bunn BTX-B ThermoFresh Coffee Brewer is ready for action whenever you need to jump start your day.
Its stainless steel tank is equipped with an internal thermostat so there is always hot water ready for brewing. Within 3 minutes the Bunn BTX-B brews up to 10 cups of superior coffee directly into a stainless steel vacuum insulated carafe, so it is perfect on those busy mornings when you just want to grab your coffee and go. The patented sprayhead design on the BTX-B also ensures that this brewer produces coffee that rivals that of your favorite café.

Controls:
With the Bunn BTX-B ThermoFresh Brewer you need only devote a short time to the initial startup process to prepare it for daily use.
Follow the steps for priming the BTX-B that are included in the instruction manual, wait 15 minutes while the water heats up and then you are ready to brew your first pot.

Brewing cup after cup of fresh-brewed coffee is a breeze. After measuring coffee into the filter, pour 4 cups (20 oz) to 10 cups (50 oz) of cold water into the machine, close the lid and let the brewing process begin. A pot brews in 3 minutes because this coffee maker keeps water at the proper brew temperature at all times.

The Bunn ThermoFresh Brewer is designed to be ready to brew anytime, so you do not have to switch the machine on or off on a daily basis. However, it is recommended that if you’re going to be away from the machine for more than 3 days, you should turn off the switch located on the side of the machine to shut off all of the electrical components. If the coffee maker has been shut off for an extended period of time, you will need to go through the initial startup process when you first turn it on again.

Performance:
With its stainless steel water tank and specially-designed sprayhead, the Bunn BTX-B ThermoFresh Coffee Brewer is made to produce the best coffee at just the right temperature for serving. This brewer delivers up to 10 cups of coffee in 3 minutes into an insulated carafe that will keep the coffee hot for hours. It is also recommended that you rinse the inside of the carafe with hot water prior to brewing coffee, which will serve to keep the coffee warmer for a longer period of time.

Construction:
With its clean lines and subdued black and stainless steel exterior the Bunn BTX-B will look great in any kitchen. This insulated container keeps coffee at an optimum temperature for about 2 hours and lets you avoid the burnt or “cooked” taste many heated glass carafes create. The thermal carafe is double-walled, dishwasher safe, and is topped with a convenient close-and-brew lid.

Carafe:
The 50 oz stainless steel thermal carafe that accompanies the Bunn BTX-B ThermoFresh Brewer holds up to 10 cups of coffee. It has an easy to grip plastic handle and a short, somewhat stout pouring spout. Because of its unique design, this spout provides easy pouring and is virtually spill free.

Boiler:
The Bunn BTX-B has an 800-watt heating element.
The first time you use this brewer the boiler will take up to 15 minutes to heat. However, once the boiler is finished with the initial start up process, the stainless steel boiler will maintain the proper temperature and always brew coffee within 3 minutes. Every time the vacation switch is activated this brewer will require another 15 minutes to heat the water when the machine is turned on again.

Hot Plate:
Thanks to a thermal carafe, there is no warmer needed with the Bunn ThermoFresh Brewer.
The thermal carafe will keep your coffee warm for hours without electric heat. And, if you rinse the inside with hot water just prior to brewing coffee, you can improve heat retention even further.

Reservoir:
The Bunn BTX-B’s reservoir acts as a funnel for the boiler.
The reservoir, located at the top and back of the machine is easy to fill. After the BTX-B is fully heated, the built-in thermostat monitors water temperatures at all times, making sure your water remains at a steady 200oF.

Water Filtration:
As with all Bunn coffee makers, the BTX-B does not use a built-in water filtration system.
It is recommended that you use filtered water for brewing, which will enhance the coffee’s flavor. If there is no water filtration system in your home try using bottled water or attaching a filter to your tap.

Coffee Filter:
The Bunn BTX-B uses a fluted paper filter.
This filter can be re-ordered through Bunn and are also found on our Accessories page.

Accessories/Re-order:
A pack of paper filters and a deliming tool are included with the Bunn BTX-B ThermoFresh Coffee Brewer. This long metal rod is used to clean the sprayhead. It looks like a tight metal spring and should be inserted into the tube above the sprayhead periodically to loosen lime build up. There are simple instructions on how to disassemble the sprayhead and insert the deliming tool, and the Bunn BTX-B also comes with 20 fluted paper filters and filter re-order instructions.

Best Coffee Maker I have Ever Used

This is one of the only machines I have ever used that I can truly taste the nuance of the coffee (even improved by my kitchen aid grinder). The fast brew and thermal carafe are the perfect combination for really tasting your coffee. Stop using slow drip coffee makers today and enter the world of Bunn, you will never go back.

To Susan on the high altitude question. The boiling point of liquids varies proportionally with pressure. Higher pressure, higher boiling point, and vice versa. Low pressure at high altitudes means the water might be boiling before it gets to the correct brew temp. I imagine they have a pressure vessel that allows pressure to build as the water heats in the coffee maker, so it won't boil before hitting temp. If you live below 4500 ft elevation or so (boiling is 203.9 F), it's not worth it.

All this information is great But how does the coffee smell and taste with brands. And to get that smooth taste how do you measure the coffee for brewiing?

BaristaCorner Dear Margaret... Bunn has a reputation within the coffee industry for manufacturing quality brewing equipment that makes excellent coffee that tastes and smells great. As far as getting a smooth taste when you brew your coffee, just remember the ratio of 1 heaping teaspoon of coffee to every 8 oz cup of water and you should be fine. I would look forward to your review of this machine once you have used it. Thank you...Eric Black

What is the reason for the high altitude version? Is it worth it spending STILL more $

WholeLatteLoveS S Do you live in a high altitude region? Because the boiling point of water is higher in at higher altitude this machine will allow you to reach the correct brew temp.
