If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.

I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!

This is a great little espresso machine. It's no Rocket or Isomac, but you would have to look hard and far to find a better value for your dollar. The operation is simple and easy. No temperature surfing or any of that stuff here. It's a thermoblock unit. Milk steaming/frothing is easy if you remove the panerello device from the steam wand. Once purged it has as much pressure that you will ever need. It is better than my Isomac Venus with this. Yes this machine is made of plastic in China. BUtr once you get over that you can get good cappuccinos here. The bottom line is that this is worTh twiCe thE price. My original reason for buying this unit was that the water reservoir fills from the front/left side with the steam wand on the right hand side. If you have cabinets to work around this might be important to you, too. The down and dirty is that this machine perfoerms as advertised. If you, as I, are mainly into milk based drinks this machine will do what you want. If you are only interested in the God Shot of espresso spend your thousands elsewhere. Enjoy.

Horrible

After returning from Italy, I set out to find a GOOD espresso machine that I could afford. From everything I was reading online, I concluded that I had to spend at least $600 to get a decent espresso machine. Then I visited a local kitchen shop that specializes in coffee, and the recommended the Capresso Classic Luxe for $199 and the Capresso Infinity grinder for $100. I was extremely pleased with this combination and used it daily for 3 years until the machine started leaking badly around the portafilter. I went back to that same shop to buy another one, but they informed me that it was no longer made and I should get this new replacement, The Capresso Cafe. On their advice, I purchased it and took it home. This machine was HORRIBLE, not even close to the Classic Luxe. First off, it was all plastic and just felt cheap. The Classic Luxe at least had a little weight to it. The espresso was watery with little crema. The foamer just produced a cup full of bubbles. After 4 or 5 tries, I boxed the machine up and took it back for a refund. Now I am back to looking at $600 machines... leaning towards the Rancilio Silva V3.

TechMilanoItalia This is a good, basic pump espresso machine for the money. If you want something set up more like a commercial style (where you have more control over the end product), you may want to consider the Gaggia Espresso Pure or Color or the Evolution.

Does this machine have the pressurized portafilter or self tamping portafilter so that it does not require manual tamping for espresso making?
Thanks

TechMilanoItalia This machine has pressurized baskets so you only need to lightly tamp the grounds with the included tamper/scoop and it will brew fine.

Will this machine make a decent crema? How well does the frothing function work? I am looking for an entry level machine to break away from a steam driven makers and am wondering if this would be a good choice?

ToddS This is an entry level machine that will brew a good creama and steam for you. It has a thermoblock so it does not have great steam pressure for frothing. You may want to move up a little bit more to the Gaggia Espresso Pure, it has a large volume Stainless Steel boiler for great steam pressure and with its commercial brewing components it can brew a commercial quality espresso. It is an amazing value for the money. If you don't have a good quality burr grinder you will also want to purchase the Gaggia "pressurized filter basket" with it.
