(more)We are proud to announce the arrival of the Ceado grinders from Italy. Ceado has a well-earned reputation in over 70 countries for making great equipment. We created the videos on Ceado to show you how they operate. Perhaps the most noticeable difference has to do with the engineering that makes them quieter, more consistent as well as easier to clean and calibrate. The Ceado line is also the only one to be fully NSF approved.
(less)The Ceado E7 Semi-Automatic Grinder has been meticulously built with the coffee connoisseur in mind. This precision-based unit features 64mm flat burrs made of hardened steel and a mechanically suspended motor with innovative sound-proofing features. A one-of-a-kind grinder, the E7 Semi Automatic has accessible burrs that can be detached in under a minute by removing only three screws for easy maintenance.
The Ceado E7 Semi-Automatic Grinder is NSF and UL approved in the US, this grinder is recommended for light commercial or home use. It is designed to minimize heat transfer during the grinding process and deliver consistent coffee grinds for a wide variety of applications, from French press to espresso. This model carries a three-year, limited manufacturer’s warranty on all parts, as well as a limited lifetime warranty on the doser lever spring.
An on/off switch lets you control the grinding process to achieve the desired grind volume.
Ceado’s burrs are held in place with three screws that allow for fast removal. The E7’s burrs have sealed threads to prevent coffee from getting stuck in the threads; this keeps the seal tight and promotes burr durability. You can also remove the burrs for cleaning and maintenance without having to recalibrate the grinder once they are reattached.
The E7 Semi-Automatic Grinder's 64mm flat burrs are made of HRC hardened steel for enhanced durability. They are completely parallel and operate at 1400 rpm to deliver uniform coffee grounds.
Ceado’s stepless infinitesimal grind adjustments and see-and-set system makes it possible to adjust grind fineness by simply sliding the ergonomic handle. The Ceado E7 has reduced pitch thread, so grind settings are sensitive and responsive. This unit also has a reduced lever range to prevent grind over adjustment, ensuring that the burrs do not make contact and cause damage to the unit.
The stainless steel doser has a conical chute that doses vertically to prevent waste. The Ceado E7 can dose from 5.5-9 grams of coffee per pull; the doser can be adjusted in 0.5-gram increments. The conical chute is shaped narrowly for mess-free dosing. A stay bolt keeps the dosing stars in position for consistent and accurate dosing. The E7’s doser has a wide, unobstructed opening for easy cleaning and maintenance.
The E7 Semi-Automatic Grinder has a 400-watt rectified motor; the motor shaft and burrs are aligned perpendicularly. The mechanically suspended motor is encased in a shell and rests on rubber mounts to allow the machine to function quietly; this unit is 30% quieter than its peers. The E7’s motor has been designed to minimize thermo expansion during the grinding process; the burrs are always kept at the appropriate value and distance for the grind setting selected by the user.
The clear polycarbonate bean hopper can house up to 3.8lbs of coffee beans. It has a wide opening for easy cleaning and maintenance.

What I like about the Grinder:
The Grind adjustment – The Ceado E7 grinder is very simple to adjust compared to other grinders in its class. While most grinders in its class use an adjustable collar the Ceado E7 has an easy to use clearly marked slide that moves precisely for coarse or fine grind adjustments.
The Doser – The doser works extremely well and does a very good job of doing a clean sweep of the grinds in the dosing chamber, thus preventing unused grinds from getting stale. The lever also has an admirable action and carries a lifetime warranty on the spring. The doser does an excellent job of shooting the coffee straight down into the portafilter. Of all the grinders I have used it does the best job of delivering the coffee grounds into your portafilter with little mess. Most grinders push the coffee to the right or left.
The Burrs – The 64 MM flat burrs do a great job of producing a consistent, quality grind. They are made of high quality steel specifically to be used in a grinder. They will stay sharp and functional for a long time. I like how the burrs are held in place by three screws not a conventional collar. This means there is no place for extra grounds to accumulate as happens with many other grinders. The collar design can cause some serious issues such as eventually not being able to adjust the grinder.
Cleaning - This is probably the best aspect of the many innovative design features. As mentioned before three screws hold the burrs in place. Removing the screws allows the top burr to be removed in one piece for cleaning or replacement. You can clean the burrs quickly and there is no build up of grounds in strange places. What is really nice is that when you reinstall the burrs they are in exactly the same place as when you started. Therefore you don’t have all the hassle of dialing in your grinder to the setting that works best for your espresso.
Some things that could be better:
The timer – The timer model does have a timer but it is preset for a specific time. This is Ok but I would like to see a dial that when turned will give you a better idea of how much coffee you are going to get.
Smaller hopper – The grinder is more of a commercial grinder. Many people would be thrilled to have this in their home along with a great pro?sumer espresso machine. The large hopper may hold more coffee then most home users will need and/or it may be too tall to fit under standard cupboards. We do have a mini grinder hopper that will work but was not designed specifically for the Ceado.
My overall impressions:
This is a great grinder with more innovative features then I’ve mentioned. I have really been impressed by how quiet it is, how well it grinds, how easy it is to keep clean, and how easy it is to adjust. If you want a quality piece of equipment that works well - then get this grinder. They are manufactured in Italy by a company with a long and successful tenure in the food equipment industry. In my opinion this grinder ranks number one out of all the grinders that I have used.
Already a respected name in over 70 different countries around the world, Ceado has officially entered the US market, bringing its visionary designs and innovative technology stateside. If you're a business or discerning home user, Ceado's line of professional grade grinders is worth a look.
There are a number of technical and design elements, as well as highlights that make these grinders unique. First and foremost, Ceado is the only grinder to earn NSF approval in the US. For those in the food and beverage business, NSF International certification is important, as it guarantees that the equipment has met stringent food safety standards. Not only NSF-approved, Ceado grinders are also UL and ETL certified; the company has been inspected, thoroughly vetted and the products have been designed to meet all sanitation and safety regulations. Even if you're considering a Ceado unit for home and not commercial use, these certifications mean that you can introduce the grinder into your kitchen with peace of mind.
Designed With Forethought
The Ceado grinders are exceedingly quiet. All of the models, including the E10 and E7, have thermo-elastomer sound-proofing features and mechanically suspended motors to allow them to operate with 30% less noise output than most of their competitors. The motor, itself, has also been mounted using unique specifications to guard against thermo expansion and keep the burrs at the appropriate distance for the grind setting chosen by the user. Ceado only tolerates up to a 1/100mm differential, compared to their competitors, most of which accept up to 3-5 times this amount. What this means, at the practical level, is that you'll end up with more consistent coffee, with the proper grind fineness for the setting you've chosen.
Along with their attention to grind accuracy, these grinders have also been designed to be exceedingly user friendly. All units are equipped with Ceado's innovative "See and Set" System to allow you to adjust the grind using an ergonomic handle.
Should you need to remove the burrs for routine cleaning and maintenance, the grinder does not need to be recalibrated once they are reattached. Burr removal is quick and easy, as the burrs are held in place by three heavy-duty screws. The system doses straight down for mess-free operation. You can adjust the doser to dispense 5.5-9 grams of coffee per pull. Every Ceado grinder has been meticulously constructed and features a heavy-duty stainless steel body as well as oversized bean hopper with a generous 3.8-pound capacity.
Recommended Use
We recommend the industry-leading Ceado E10 for high-volume establishments. If you'll be serving 100+ guests a week, this grinder will allow you to keep up without breaking a sweat. It has a 740-watt motor and large 83mm hardened steel burrs to deliver fast, consistent results. This unique grinder operates at a very low speed, 690rpm to be exact, to minimize heat transfer and maintain coffee flavor and aroma. The E10 is equipped with a cooling fan to prevent the unit from overheating during heavy use.
On the other hand, if you're looking for a professional grinder for the home or if your business experiences light-to-medium traffic, the E7 would be a great choice. It operates at 1400 rpm using a 400-watt motor. This model has slightly smaller 64mm burrs, compared to the E10's 83mm burrs, and is an excellent step up for customers who wish experience a solid professional-grade grinder.
If you would like to learn about the Ceado E7 and E10, you should watch this video. These grinders have been uniquely engineered to standards that we have not seen in grinders before. I think the E7 would be great for home and light commercial use. The E10 with its exact grind, low rpm and cooling fan would be well suited for high volume locations. In this video, I'll give you an overview of the features that set the E10 and E7 apart from their peers.
