Cuisinart went completely stainless with their Grind Central Coffee Grinder. This little dynamo is constructed of Stainless Steel right down to its blades. The Cuisinart Grind Central has a heavy-duty motor that is activated by a push button control. Simply press it to grind. There is a built-in safety interlock to prevent grinding unless the lid is securely in place. The bean hopper of the Grind Central is a removable stainless steel bowl. Just give it a slight twist and your bean hopper/ ground coffee container lifts right off. Empty the ground coffee into your coffee filter, and take it right to the dishwasher for easy clean up! Available in Brushed Stainless Steel.

My wife and I received this grinder as a gift overy three years ago. We had no mechanical problems at all with it. However, it did not grind evenly - some beans were finely ground while others were left in large chunks. It was also difficult to create the same level of grind day to day. I had read at WLL about the superiority of burr grinders and recetly purchased a Baratza Virtuoso. With this grinder, the beans are beautifully and uniformly ground, and the coffee tastes noticably better. I now believe that blade grinders should be used for nuts, seeds, and spices. Good coffee deserves a qality burr grinder.

Had the Grind Central Grinder a little over 2 months. It was hard to remove from the base and eventually broke off at the bottom of the canister that the beans are placed in. Would not purchase anything else from Cuisinart after this experience.

gophishin Lee, you will be much better served by purchasing a burr grinder, and with burr grinders you typically get what you pay for, so do your homework. A blade grinder will not grind consistently enough so you will get dust and boulders (large and small particles) which extract at different rates - the small dust extracting faster and/or over extracting creating bitter coffee. I went with a cheap blade grinder for awhile on my FP and once I got a good burr grinder I notice a big difference in body, overall balance, and flavor profile.
How many ounces will the cuisinart grind central grinder hold at one time? Please advise me of the cheapest grinder that will grind at one time 1/2 lb of coffee beans and will grind at one time 1 lb of coffee beans for a relatively fine grind. Thank you. Bob Fastov

mjackson ♦ Robert,
Good question. The Jura Capresso Infinity Burr Grinder will hold eight ounces in the bean hopper and 4 ounces in the ground container. I think it is going to be hard to find a grinder that will hold a pound of ground beans at a time. The one that will is the Breville Smart grinder as the least expensive. I hope this helps.
I am looking for a BLADE coffee grinder with a dial for coarse to fine grind and another for the number of cups to be ground. Is this it?

Whole Latte Love Staff Blade grinders do not have grind settings - to grind finer, you will simply grind for a longer amount of time. Burr grinders do have grind settings from coarse to fine, which allow you to get the perfect grind no matter what brewing method youre using and create a more even and consistent grind than blade grinders can provide. Im not sure how fine youll need your grinds, but there are a couple of models I can recommend: the Krups Burr Grinder and the Bunn BCG. Both models have the ability for you to change the grind setting and select how much youd like to grind based on the number of cups. You can learn more about these grinders by following the links below.
Whole Latte Love Staff The Grind Central can hold and grind up to 4 oz of coffee, which is more than enough for a 12-cup pot of drip coffee. Information like this can be found for any of the grinders we carry by following the link below to our Compare-O-Matic.
How does this operate? Do you have to hold it down to grind the beans like most blade grinders?

Whole Latte Love Staff The Grind Central has a single on/off button that you press and hold to grind - when you let go, grinding will stop. In addition, this grinder has a safety mechanism that wont let you grind unless the lid is on and locked into place.
Can this machine be used in India which has 220 volt electrical outlets?

Whole Latte Love Staff Unfortunately, we only carry this and all of our grinders in 110/120v. I would recommend contacting Cuisinart directly at 800-726-0190 for further information on 220v availability.
