Essential Info:
Ready to start your day without a fuss?
A whole half-pound of beans fits into this sealable bean hopper, so forget about storing your coffee in the freezer. With a grinder built in to the machine, the Cuisinart Grind & Brew 12-Cup Automatic Coffee maker is great for coffee lovers with limited counter space, or those who just don’t feel like buying another appliance for a daily cup of morning coffee. It’s fully programmable and made of stainless steel, designed to be both sophisticated and durable.

Controls:
Cuisinart identifies each button by its name written in black under it, such as “Strength Control” and “Grind Off.”
You can use the control panel to program the clock, control the coffee strength (mild, medium, or strong), grind beans for up to 12 cups of coffee, and auto-start the coffeemaker up to 24 hours in advance. There is also an auto-shutoff, so you can program your machine to automatically turn off up to 4 hours after its last use.

Performance:
Besides the control features, the Cuisinart Grind & Brew 12-Cup Automatic also includes a Brew Pause system, which allows you to remove the carafe mid-brew to pour out a cup.
A showerhead design distributes water evenly over your coffee grounds, so your coffee is consistent each brew.

Construction:
The Grind & Brew 12-Cup Automatic is housed in stainless steel, for a great look that is also functional.
The clear plastic bean hopper allows for easy monitoring of coffee bean levels, and the rounded edges of the machine give it a softer look. The Cuisinart logo is displayed beneath the control panel, above the carafe.

Grinder:
The grinder uses a burr mill design to grind the beans consistently, and it grinds automatically before brewing.
Burr grinders have a stationary burr, and a second burr that spins. For the times when you prefer pre-ground coffee, simply turn off the grinder by pressing the “Grind Off” button.

Hopper Container:
The hopper holds half a pound of whole beans, which is enough to make more than 2 12-cup pots of coffee.
It locks into place for sturdiness, but can be removed for easy filling and cleaning. The hopper container lid keeps beans fresh by sealing out moisture and air, both of which can cause flavor degradation. For the best taste, clean the hopper every 1-2 weeks in the dishwasher or using warm, soapy water.

Carafe and Hot Plate:
The glass carafe rests on a scratch-resistant hot plate.
The hot plate’s non-stick coating allows for easy clean up. A cleanly designed black plastic handle, and easy-pour spout, makes serving coffee from the carafe simple. Markings on the side measure how much coffee is in the pot. The carafe and lid can be washed in warm soapy water when needed.

Reservoir:
To fill the water reservoir, simply flip back the water reservoir cover located behind the grinder. The water reservoir holds enough water for 12 cups of coffee, so you don’t have to worry about running out mid-brew. A window on the right side of the machine lets you see how much water is left.

Water Filtration:
An included charcoal water filter eliminates impurities from your tap water, so your coffee tastes great and your brewing components function at their best. It should be replaced every 60 days.

Coffee Filter:
The Gold Tone Cuisinart Commercial Style Filter rests inside of the filter basket. If the filter basket and cover are not in place, Cuisinart’s safety system will prevent the machine from brewing. The filter, filter basket, and cover can be washed in warm soapy water, or cleaned in the dishwasher for your convenience.

Accessories/Reorder:
Includes a coffee scoop, instruction manual, and limited 3-year warranty.

Cousinart Grind and Brew

While the idea is fantastic, the design is flawed. Should have been designed w/o moving parts aside from the great burr grinder. As it is, the brew chamber has a lid with gear teeth that are SUPPOSED to be turned by a gear wheel in the housing, taking the rotating cap through three different stations; grind, brew and hold. The basket/gear wheel connection is very sporadic in its decision to work or not to work. Sometimes I have to stand over the machine, turn it on and off several times, realign the basket cover, get burned with hot water being poured out onto the lid, etc, etc. This sort of defeats the programmable utility of the maker, since it's clicking and beeping and attempting to rotate for 10 min before I get out to the kitchen to have my cup. Then to stand over it when otherwise I would be uncovering the canary cages and letting the dogs outside, feeding them, etc, NOT convenient. In addition, the chute from grinder to basket fills and clogs, so that I would have to remove the coffee bin every time I wanted to stet up to brew, clean out the chute, replace the bin, then add the water. We returned this model to the store where we purchased it (for Mother's Day! :(- ) so am looking for a NEW maker. One that brings me the wonders of freshly ground and brewed coffee when I wake up and stumble to the kitchen. MMMMmmmmmm!

Love my coffee

I really like all the features this coffee pot offers however, IT CLOGS UP after every two pots of coffee and that is really a pain. You take the top off, (be careful or the beans in the holder will go everywhere)open the lid and us the little brush to scrape the clogged area. I use my small vaccum to really clean it out. I have never had to worry about this with any other coffee pot. It uses a tremendous amount of coffee beans per pot.

This Grind and Brew is Just Okay

As in other reviews I read prior to purchase this machine uses more coffee than necessary. There is no adjustment to the grind, and the grind is rather course. It's more course than pre-ground Starbucks. As a result, it takes more coffee to make strong coffee. I have resorted to buying pre-ground coffee. I'm also having a problem with the basket door staying closed while brewing is going on.

What's Best About this Product?

The temperature of the water is sufficiently hot. The design is attractive. It's easy to clean, including the grinder shute.

Some Helpful Tips For Using this Product:

I would not recommend this for a grind and brew machine, I think my old Melitta was better at grinding. This machine produces hotter water and overall, a good tasting brew when pre-ground coffee is used.

My Experience With Using This Product:

Coffee Lover

The Coffee I've Tried With This Product:

Starbucks & Pete's

Some Improvements I Would Recommend for This Product:

The grind should be finer, and if possible adjustable.

This coffeemaker is much betetr than the old versions of this coffeemaker. Its totally redesigned with a removable water tank. I love that. The best thing about it is it doesnt leak all over like my old one. Im very happy with this coffee maker.
