Highly recommend. Excellent build quality, ease of use. This machine makes excellent espressos (my primary reason for purchase) and good lattes and cappuccino's. The external milk frother unit is brilliant. I use it with Lavazza Blu, ground with a Baratza Encore grinder and am very pleased with the results. Machine is easy to clean and very easy to operate.
In terms of shot quality, how will this compare to the Gaggia Classic? Also, I'm really looking for a durable machine as I can't afford to have something break on me in a year or two. Do you think this DeLonghi will last for a long time (and if not, why?) Thanks.

Is there a difference in brew quality of coffee between this machine and the Gran Dama 6600? What makes the 6600 a much more expensive machine?

They are two different types of machines. One is a super auto, that does everything for you with a touch of a button. So it certainly is much more convenient. The EC680 requires you grind on your own and load coffee into the machine. It does some of the milk function for you. So the extra cost is really for your convenience. So the expense lies in the automation. The EC680 requires you do much more work.

The Delonghli is a Semi automatic espresso machine with a automatic milk option, and is a great machine at for the price. The Unica is a Super Automatic espresso machine with no milk automatic milk option, and is at a great price. Thanks.

It is an interesting machine. It does the milk automatically and also has a portafilter. It is kind of a hybrid. I like the Gaggias better as you will be able to have more control over your final product. I also think it will prove to be more durable as well. The dimensions are 12 x 10 x 11.5 h x w x d. I hope that helps.

I really like the Gaggia Classic. We have customers call all the time that have had the machine for 15 years or more. It is durable and simple. The Delonghi does have the cool milk thing and I think that is handy but does not offer the control over the milk like the Gaggia does. I would get tehta machien and spend the extra on a good grinder like the Gaggia MDF in the end you will be happier.
