The Delonghi KG89 Burr Coffee Grinder is a very affordable burr type grinder for the home barista and comes wrapped in a stainless steel housing. It has a powerful 170-watt motor and can automatically grind enough beans to make between four and 12 cups of coffee in one batch making it the perfect companion for your 5, 10 or 12 cup drip coffee maker.
Burr grinders give you the most consistent grounds size without creating too many “fines” or dust. This allows you to make superb coffee extractions that are the same time after time.
A transparent bean hopper holds up to 4.2oz, (120 grams), of beans under a stay-fresh lid, and a transparent ground coffee container and lid will hold a 12 cup batch. The ground coffee container, its lid and the lid of the bean hopper are top-rack dishwasher safe. The Delonghi KG89 burrs are easily removable for cleaning.
The KG89 Burr Coffee Grinder has infinite settings between fine and coarse adjusted by a large easy-to-turn rubber selector knob and dial on the side of the machine for making the proper grounds for brewing from espresso to French press. The quantity of ground coffee is set by another large selector knob and dial on the front of the grinder, and will grind 1 tablespoon of coffee per cup selected on the dial.
The ground coffee container slides easily out the front of the grinder and also come with a stay-fresh lid for short-term storage of the ground coffee.
The DeLonghi KG89 Burr Coffee Grinder is designed for maximum safety. There is an automatic safety device that shuts down the machine's grinding wheels. This occurs if you remove the bean hopper or ground coffee container during operation. It also features a power cord rewind knob to keep excess cord stowed neatly.

A nicely designed stainless steel grinder with a pretty plastic upper and lower housing case. The machine is low on the noise side (for a grinder) and doesn't produce lots of coffee dust. Unfortunately even though it has an espresso setting, it doesn't quite get the grind fine enough for espresso. Buy this for a drip coffee lover, not an espresso lover.

Safety Features are great.
After several uses, it will clog. This is an indication requiring a clean-out of the interior coffee dispenser hole with a damp cloth.

A good machine for beans ground for normal drip coffee. Unfortunately I bought it for grinding fine enough for espresso, which it doesn't do very well. Its close, and requires some serious tamping for me to get a shot on the light-side of espresso taste, but that's unfortunately the best it can do.
I have a Gaggia Baby espresso machine which pulls a perfect shot every time if I buy my espresso pre-ground from the coffee shop.

SonnyCorinthos ♦ I agree. This grinder is best used for drip coffee/pour over or french press.
