The DeLonghi Nespresso Lattissima EN660.R is designed exclusively for use with Nespresso single serving espresso capsules, and it takes the convenience of capsule brewing a step further with an automatic milk system. Brewing and frothing with the EN660 is completely automatic, and the Nespresso capsule system eliminates the need for grinding, tamping and measuring coffee grounds. Each individual capsule is prepacked and sealed to deliver great tasting espresso without the guesswork. The fast-heating thermoblock boiler can brew espresso and quickly froth and steam milk for lattes and cappuccinos. The DeLonghi Nespresso Lattissima EN660.R has a modern look to complement the streamlined brew system, with durable stainless steel housing and a die-cast zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper alloy front panel.

Nespresso Capsules

Thanks to its specially designed hands-free capsule system, the Lattissima EN660.R brings you great tasting espresso effortlessly. Designed to use only Nespresso capsules, the Nespresso 660 allows you to brew 12 varieties of delicious tasting espresso in seconds by simply inserting a capsule directly into the machine – no grinding, measuring, or tamping at all. The teardrop-shaped capsules are designed to allow the optimum amount of water and pressure to flow through them, and are then automatically ejected into an internal dump box after brewing is complete.

Bold Design

The 660 will make a statement all right – a statement that you’re serious about coffee – but can have fun at the same time. Its teardrop-shaped coffee spout, easy-to-operate switches, and combination of heavy-duty materials in the 660’s construction, plus its red exterior gives it the look and feel coffee lovers are demanding. The rocker switches on the front of the machine are illuminated for brewing cappuccinos, café lattes, short and long shots of espresso. Since each switch is labeled, it’s easy to dispense hot water, and swap out the automatic milk system, which produces steamed and frothed milk.

Flexible Brewing

Because operating the DeLonghi Nespresso EN660.R is self-explanatory, you’ll immediately begin brewing creamy cappuccinos and café lattes by simply inserting a capsule by lifting the jaw of the machine and flipping a switch. You’ll be able to choose between 12 different varieties of coffee, each with colorful labels. When you’re finished brewing, lift the lever and you’ll eject the capsule into the internal container. Brewing couldn’t be any easier.

Programming Options

The engineers at DeLonghi pre-programmed volume for small and large espresso, but that doesn’t mean you have to use them. If you’d like the change the volume setting of your coffee insert a capsule and press and hold the button corresponding to the drink you’d like to adjust. Release it when you’ve reached the desired volume, and you’ve easily re-programmed the volume. The flow of water will stop and the button will blink 3 times, to confirm the new program – you might describe it as similar to setting the pre-set stations on your car radio. And if you’d ever want to revert to the original factory settings, simply press the standby button for 5 seconds and they’ll be reset.

Making Cappuccinos and Café Lattes

Frothing and steaming is really an art – that’s why the engineers at DeLonghi and Nespresso have perfected it through automation. The 660’s patented milk system is easily recognized as soon as it’s inserted, and once that’s done, the cappuccino and café latte switches will illuminate. You’ll be able to adjust the frothing regulator depending on the quantity you want and what type of milk you’re using. When you’ve got it all attached, place your cup below the teardrop-shaped spout, move the milk spout so it’s pointed into the cup, and press the button once you’ve inserted the capsule.

Care for the Milk System

The system is extremely easy to clean. Simply press and hold the clean switch located on the front of the milk system to the left of the spout in order to rinse out the milk. The 25 oz milk container can easily be removed and stored in the refrigerator when not in use, and a damp cloth is all you need to wipe down any connecting tubes where milk was used.

Hot Water

The EN660.R dispenses hot water for tea, soup and hot chocolate. To operate the hot water features, insert the hot water nozzle in place of the milk container and the operating switches will illuminate. Simply press the hot water switch and you’ll be able to dispense up to 13 oz of hot water.

Removable Drip Tray and Dump Box

Keeping your DeLonghi Nespresso EN660.R clean is a cinch with the easily removable drip tray and dump box. You’ll know when to remove the dump box when it’s filled with spent capsules, and the lever won’t close. The drip tray has a level indicator, so you’ll notice when it’s filled. When cleaning both of these, simply wipe it down or rinse with warm water.

Removable Water Reservoir

The removable 40 oz water tank is easy to clean as well. Simply rinse it with warm water and wipe it down with a damp cloth. Keeping it clean and filled with fresh water is the key to great tasting espresso.

Descaling

Like any espresso machine, descaling the EN660.R is necessary if you want to keep your machine operating smoothly. Cleaning the 660, like any other machine, should be done every 3 to 4 months, depending on the hardness of your water. The entire process of descaling should take approximately 20 minutes when you follow the directions in the user's manual.
