I was cleaning my Gaggia New Baby portafilter, had my trash in one hand, my black 2 way pin in the other...accidentally opened the wrong hand over a huge trash, and threw out my pin! I frantically went through all of my accessories that came with my New Baby, looking for a replacement pin...sadly there was none. Thankfully they sell these here! I bought 4, just in case I lose another. I suggest anyone that has a Gaggia New Baby, or any Gaggia espresso machine that uses these pins to get a few spares so they don't have to go without espresso for a week like I did while you wait for one to come in!

Tracys ♦ The 2 way pin is for the pressurized Gaggia filter baskets. If you do not have a grinder and want to produce good creme this can help. Black 2 Way Pin (Black Insert PR Basket)
Does this fit the classic gaggia model number 14101? I want to make sure before we purchase it as ours was thrown away by accident...

Kristen C Katie, yes, the Black 2 Way Pin (Black Insert PR Basket) does fit in the Gaggia porta filters with the pressurized baskets.

It enables the pressurized baskets to work. If your grind is not correct or fine enough it still lets you brew an espresso. It is used with the two baskets that have the dime size shape on the bottom and the pin hole in the opening. It is not used if the grind is correct and you use the basket that has the openings all the way through it. This basket is used when you have a good espresso grinder. You will need the pin if you use the pressurized baskets.
