The Gaggia bottomless portafilter is an essential tool for any serious home barista. The Gaggia bottomless portafilter allows you to see any channeling as it occurs so the barista in you can easily identify uneven tamping. This 58mm bottomless portafilter is made of a commercial grade, chrome-plated brass and is compatible with Gaggia semi-automatic espresso machines that use the Gaggia 58mm portafilter. Because the interior side-wall is machined flush it will any accept any depth of filter basket.
A bottomless portafilter lets you perfect the art of espresso. Without spouts, the bottomless portafilter gives you an unobstructed view of the entire extraction process as it progresses.

Sanfam ♦ Unfortunately, I don't have an exact measure on the bolt in this handle--it should be the same as a standard Gaggia Portafilter which uses an M6X16 bolt.

I am sorry it wont fit. A lot of the group heads have unique proportions and you need to get a Breville bottomless portafilter. Unfortunately we do not carry them.

Gaggia Bottomless Portafilter
The Gaggia bottomless ports filter is out of stock again. I just ordered one, as a pre-order. Can you tell me when I can expect shipment? Before Xmas hopefully?? And also, when am I charged for this item, now or at the time of its shipping?

Kristen C Philip, if an item is on backorder, you are not charged anything until the items is received into stock. Unfortunately, we are looking at approximately three weeks before we will be receiving any more Gaggia Bottomless Portafilters in. I apologize for the delay.

Gaggia Bottomless Portafilter
The plastic insert beneath the basket in the Baby Gaggia portafilter got ground up with the coffee in the garbage disposal. How can I get a few of these since otherwise coffee sprays out all over the counter with every type of filter that came with the machine. Thanks

Excellently built. Unlike portafilter mods out there, this one has no sharp bottom rim. In fact, it has a nice finish to it. The metal portion of the portafilter is quite heavy, which is good. The handle's plastic is not as nice as others because it is just plastic, with no rubber. Nevertheless, it is a very good insulator. For the price, it is well worth it. The bottomless portafilter allows you to see the crema as it comes out of the basket. In this way, you can know when you are using the right grinding settings and tampering pressure. In my case, I bought it for a Starbucks Saeco Sirena machine. It does work well, but you have to use your original basket on this portafilter. A gaggia replacement basket plus this portafilter will get some small amount of leaking for a Sirena. There should be no problems with the actual Gaggia machines it is made for.

Well built. The rim is not sharp as in DIY versions.

A heavy rubber handle would be better than plastic. However, this portafilter is very well priced, and this improvement would make it more expensive.

mjackson ♦ Having fun begins when you go bottomless as far as espresso is concerned. Seriously it is a great way to brew a shot and see what is happening and I like the fact the crema from the shot is not broken up at all.
