Overview

Redesigned for 2013, the venerable Gaggia Syncrony Logic makes a triumphant return to the modern market. Sporting all of the same features people fell in love with, this updated version boasts a new boiler and improved milk frothing system. Inside the Syncrony Logic sits a stainless steel lined, aluminum J-boiler, coupled with a separate steaming boiler. The Logic's brew group is designed with the same dual stainless steel screen group found in the Gaggia Titanium. The end result is a heavy-duty, hard-working machine, that is made easy to use by its intuitively designed push-button control panel.

The Logic has a simple control knob on its front panel that lets you select the liquid volume of espresso you’d like to brew from 1oz to 8oz. You can use this in conjunction with the 6 to 9 gram adjustable dosing and 18 grind settings to craft a drink that’s custom made for your palate. Alternatively, you can brew using pre-ground coffee by using the bypass doser. Lastly, the Logic's rapid steam boiler allows you to transition between brewing and steaming without delay.

With regards to steaming, the Logic includes an all-new automatic milk frother based on Gaggia's original Cappuccinatore. With an ergonomic design for easier positioning over your cup, this new frother is designed with a cyclonic chamber for superior micro foam and hotter milk.

Even cleaning and maintaining the Logic is quick and easy. Unlike many super-automatics, you don’t need to remove the drip tray or open a door to access the dreg drawer, it simply pulls out of the left side of the machine. The Logic is also mounted on a swivel base, providing easy access to other components, like the removable 58oz capacity reservoir, 12oz bean hopper, and removable brew group.

Housed in a matte silver ABS plastic, the Gaggia Syncrony Logic comes with a 7-gram coffee scoop and cleaning brush, weighs 20 lbs, and measures 15.35" L x 15" H x 13" D.

New to this Version

Improved Milk Frother

Improving upon the design of the traditional Cappuccinatore, the Syncrony Logic Rapid Steam employs a new automatic milk frother with the following improvements:

  • Cyclonic chamber: The new automatic frother is designed with a cyclonic chamber which emulsifies the milk for a longer duration, resulting in superior foam quality and higher temperature.
  • Ergonomic design: The frother's ergonomic shape allows it to be easily rotated according to your cup size.
  • Easy to clean: Simply dispense hot water through the milk frother to rinse after each use.
  • Improved J Boiler

This new iteration of the Syncrony Logic is fitted with an improved J boiler for faster heat up times.

Features & Benefits: Coffee

Automatic Coffee Center

This is more than just an "Espresso Machine"! It is easily capable of making any style of cappuccino or latte. In fact, most of our customers use their Super Automatic espresso machines for "crema coffee" instead of drip coffee. Crema coffee is simply an espresso brewed to fill a regular coffee mug. This produces a much more aromatic and flavorful cup of coffee. As a result of the pressure brewed process (8 to 10 atmospheres of pressure!), the gravity-based drip coffee systems simply cannot match. The Gaggia Syncrony Logic will also produce hot water for tea or steamed milk for hot chocolate!

Rapid Steam®

This technology allows you to instantly go from brewing to steaming and back again without the wait time normally associated with single-boiler systems. There is no faster way to make cappuccinos and lattes in your home.

Push-Button Technology

It really does not get any easier than this. Just press the brew button and the machine does the rest. It will automatically grind and extract the coffee to your desired taste. When the coffee is finished brewing, the machine will automatically place coffee grounds into an internal dump box for later disposal and even tell you when it is full. Depending on the size of the coffee that you are brewing, it will be done in as quick as 35 seconds and ready to brew again.

Adjustable Beverage Volume

A liquid volume selector knob allows you to customize the amount of coffee you brew before every brewing cycle. Just turn the knob to the desired liquid volume, press the brew button, and you’ll get exactly what you want every time.

Adjustable Dosing Feature

The Gaggia Syncrony Logic has an adjustable doser that controls the amount of ground coffee used for each beverage (6 to 9 grams for a single shot). Combine this ability with the "adjustable volume control" and you have total control over coffee strength and flavor at the push of a button.

Coffee Pre-infusion

This is another advantage of the super-automatic coffee center. The first step takes about 2 seconds, as it moistens and conditions the ground coffee. Next, a 2 second pause allows the aromatic oils to leach from the interior of the coffee. The second step activates the high-pressure pump to ensure absolute maximum flavor extraction with a perfect crema topping.

Bypass Doser

This is used with ground coffee only. Perfect for those occasions when you don't want to be "caffeinated" or have decaf-only guests. This is also useful for experimenting with different types of coffees. If you are usually a decaf drinker, use the bypass doser for regular instead.

Adjustable Coffee Spout

The dispensing spout slides up or down to adjust for different size cups. It adjusts from small espresso cups up to large mugs with no splashing.

Professional Conical Burr Grinder

The grinder has 18 settings providing plenty of control. You can grind from fine to coarse to accommodate any style of coffee roast. Light, medium or dark, espresso or regular coffee beans.

Cup Warmer

Preheating your cups is important. The Syncrony Logic will hold up to 4 espresso cups and features a polished metal railing to keep your cups in place.

Features & Benefits: Frothing and Hot Water

Hot Water Dispenser

Hot water is instantly available by turning the steam/hot water control knob. Makes 8 oz for a cup of tea or hot cider in 30 seconds.

Features & Benefits: Care, Maintenance & Other

Water Reservoir

The removable reservoir holds a plentiful 58 oz of water.

Removable Brew Group

The Gaggia brew group is easy to remove. Just open the front door and remove with the thumb release lever. This gives you access to everything that brews the coffee. Normal maintenance would include a quick rinse and dry.

Bean Container

Holds 12 oz of fresh whole bean coffee - about enough for 40 espressos before refilling.

Removable Dreg Drawer

The dregs drawer is located inside the machine and is easily accessed from the left side. The Logic is unique in the fact that you do not need to remove the drip tray or open the front access door to remove the dregs drawer.

Swivel Base

The swivel base makes accessing the different parts of the machine for maintenance, refilling water reservoir, and bean hopper easy. Just rotate the machine, no lifting required!

"Rapid Steam" is slow steam, not rapid

I recently purchased a Gaggia Syncrony Logic "Rapid Steam".  When I pull the steam lever, it squirts about an ounce of water for about 15 seconds, sputters for another 10-15 as the boiler finally heats up, then steams.  This is annoying, Seems contrary to advertising.  And requires another...
Sanfam aswered:
WIth a rapid steam boiler, most machines (the Syncrony Logic included) start the frothing process with a purge of the water circuit; This totals just about 1-1.2oz of water in most cases.  Other than that, the total warmup time in my experience is typically about 10 seconds including the purge.... more

brewed coffee volume inconsitant

The total amount of coffee that ends up in the cup is very inconsistant, with a 2-3 oz variation. I've tried priming and cleaning. We've had the machine for about 5 months and it ran perfectly for the first 4 months.

Hello Scott, Please call our tech team at 1-888-411-5282 ext 3.  I have an idea what it could be, but they will know best.  Which is strange because your issue is very rare. Shane

ShaneAncefsky-Sales aswered:
I would just get the Gaggia Pannarello wand.  Simple to use and clean.

Question by Adriana M.

I live in an area with very hard water. Even with a filtration system, there is a lot of calcium and other mineral in our drinking water. How hard will it be to clean this machine and remove the hard water buildup?
mjackson aswered:
If possible buy soft water , that would really help. If not you can descale and I would do it about every 8 - 10 weeks if your water is very hard. Use a product like this http://www.wholelattelove.com/Urnex/urnex-dezcal-activated-scale-remover.cfm

Question by Nesaraj J.

Is it normal for a small amount of water to fall from the brew group into the drip tray after brewing?
ShaneAncefsky-Sales aswered:
Thank you for the question. So after it done brewing it is dripping from the spouts. This will be residual water left in the line from brewing. You will get a little bit, but it shouldn't be as big amount.

How long does it take to steam/froth manually and or with the Pannarello wand for a 16 oz drink??
ShaneAncefsky-Sales aswered:
Thanks for the question. I am sure this will help others also. A thing to remember is that when frothing that the milk will expand 1.5 to 2 times its original volume.
