can this machine be de-calsified?

techkathy It can not be de-calcified like a single boiler espresso machine. we would really recommend having a professional repair center perform the cleaning. The best way to avoid scale build up is to avoid using hard water in the machine.

Our cabinets are exactly 18 inches from the counter top. Are there any shorter feet options that would allow it to work under these kitchen cabinets?

mjackson ♦ Glenn,
They are both good machines. The TS is going to be great if you want to make lots of drinks in a row as it has a much greater steaming capacity. It also does make great shots. Get the TS if you like to entertain or even on a individual basis if you want to make your drinks faster.

Michael Rosso ♦ Ernesto...Thank you for your interest in the Gaggia TS Espresso Machine. The height can not be reduced by much because the power cord plugs into the bottom of the machine. I hope this information helps. However if you have more questions please feel free to contact us directly at 1-888-411-5282 option 1. Thanks.

mjackson ♦ Christine,

This is a new machine and a really nice machine . For some reason it brews really great shots as I have used it a lot. It also steams very well and strongly. It is a great value and works well for making multiple drinks.

what is the voltage on the Gaggia ts? Also what is the actual color of the machine? Im seeing it advertised in all stainless steel, and also with a black bottm.

mjackson ♦ Sd,

This machine runs on a normal 110 outlet. It does have a 1500 watt heating element. It is a very good machine and has proven to be very temperature stable as well. It is stainless steel and it is a nice looking machine.

BaristaCorner Hello George...There is a 58mm ESE pod portafilter basket available from Gaggia that would allow you to brew through an ESE pod on the TS. Please give me a call so that I can give you more specifics about the Gaggia TS and this basket. My number is 888-411-5282, extension 5140. Thank you, Eric Black

Hi again,

Well I started with a Silvia from you folks and then upgraded to a Salvatore from you again some years ago; and although the Salvatore works great, every now and then I catch a little case of upgrade fever...

Does this machine have a PID controller and can the user set the brew temp? Have you received any feedback about this machine?

Other than this what pro-sumer machines would you recommend assuming my priorities are good steaming capability and PID control?

Regards,
Brian

TechMilanoItalia The TS does not have a PID system, but it is a really solid performer that is capable as a light commercial machine or high-end home machine. For something with a PID and excellent steaming, check out the Expobar Brewtus III machines.

How To Choose An Espresso Machine

If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.

I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!

For over 12 years my Gaggia Classic and my MDF grinder had been a part of my family. Finally, the Classic was in need of an overhaul, which Whole Latte Love did a beautiful job of doing, and then I decided that it was time to hand her and the grinder over to my daughter who is in grad school. I also decided that it was time for me to treat myself and go to the next level as a prosumer. I live in an old warehouse that I have converted into a loft apartment with a kitchen that has tons of counter space and no overhead cabinets, so the sky is was the limit in terms of espresso equipment. With so many choices out there for prosumer machines, I had my work cut out for me in terms of research. The contenders included Rocket Espresso Cellini Evoluzione, Expobar Brewtus III, Pasquini Livia 90, and the Gaggia TS. I had to weigh out which of the multitude of features were important to me, and in the end, I ended up with my old friend, Gaggia. There were key features that led me to choosing the Gaggia TS, besides my loyalty to the brand. The horizontal copper boiler seemed to be a really common sense design because the heating element would never be exposed to the air. The other thing that was a big decision maker for me was the separate brew group heater instead of a unit with an E61 (which I had a chance to try out at a friend’s house). I have found that my brew temperatures are far more consistent than those of a standard heat exchanger machine. Other features like the huge commercial steam valves and steam wand, the low water indicator system in the reservoir and all copper tubing help seal the deal. The overall style and look of this machine are exactly what I was looking for in my loft. I could not be happier with my choice of the Gaggia TS, which, by the way, I have paired with the Ceado E7 Timer grinder (I am writing a whole separate review of that work-of-art). There is no doubt that I have reached a new level of espresso quality.
