Features

If your Gaggia MDF coffee grinder seems to have lost its ability to grind fine enough, or the consistency is lacking, it may be time to replace the grinding burrs.  These burrs are built to last for years, but with heavy or improper usage they will dull.  The MDF grinding burrs are easily replaced by the user and need not be sent to a repair shop.

These parts can be used on MDF grinders built within the last 10 years.  Italians don’t believe in planned obsolesence!

We can assist in the replacement if you wish, just call our tech support line 888-411-5282.

Mike Sharp I have a Gaggia MDF that is about 25 or 30 years old. Still grinds great, but I was thinking about replacing the burrs. The description says these burrs fit an MDF made within the last 10 years, but is there a set for my old grinder? Thanks, Mike

Mark Jackson Mike, That is a tough question and glad you asked. I did find out that they will absolutely fit. The nice thing is why change a design that works so well. Give us a call and we will be glad to get the burrs out to you.

Richard Lambert I just received your Brewtus V and just set it up. For grinding using a 4 year old Gaggia MDF at aprox 4-6 grinds per day (double shots). For the brewtus I find the "3" setting is best. Do you feel it may be time to change the burrs on the MDF? Please send me your instructions on "How to clean; How to callibrate; How to change burrs". Thanks Richard Lambert RVLambert@msn.com

David Dwyer I have a Gaggia MDF burr grinder which is approximately 25 years old. It is running well, but I'd like to disassemble it and clean the burr mechanism -- and see if perhaps the burrs need replacing. However, I'm completely stumped as to how to take apart the grinder to get at the burrs. Other posts on the forum talk about lifting off two rubber covers over screws in the bottom of the bean hopper -- my Gaggia MDF grinder does not have these -- there is simply what looks like a centrally positioned black plastic "nosecone" in the inside of the bean hopper. Two questions: (1) how do I remove the bean hopper of this older model Gaggia MDF grinder and (2) are new burrs available for this older Gaggia grinder? Thanks so much for your help. David

Tech Milano David, the hopper on your older MDF is pressed in. It is a friction-fit, but it is usually hard to remove. You can use a longer screwdriver as a lever and put it under the hopper, and pry up. Work opposite sides until you get that to pop up, then you can disassemble the rest to get down to the burrs. The current MDF burrs will fit.
