This Package Includes:
One of the most compact One Touch automatic coffee centers available today, the C9 One Touch offers the ultimate in user-friendly technology, and is fully programmable for all coffee, frothing and hot water functions. In just seconds, the C9 grinds, tamps and brews. Without ever having to move the cup, it dispenses hot water for Café Americano or tea, and froths or steams milk for cappuccinos or lattes.
Whether you’re making one cup at a time or two, the C9 One Touch lets you set temperature, volume and strength for each button, while the Auto Cappuccino System makes for easy frothing and steaming. Expect to create coffee perfection each and every time with professional-quality features including a commercial-grade conical burr grinder, automatic cleaning cycles, bright LED display and the Clearyl water filtration system that purifies your water, while significantly reducing the need for decalcification. And with its sleek, elegant black finish and chrome accents, it’s truly like having a coffee bar in your kitchen.
The Jura Capresso C9 One Touch is stainless steel-lined ThermoBlock with stainless steel grid, thick ABS plastic and commercial-grade conical steel burrs. Measuring 13.5"x11"x16" (HWD), the machine weighs 21 lbs. The machine also comes with a 64 oz. removable water tank and a 14 oz. stainless steel thermal milk container, and is equipped with energy-saving settings to save you money.
Easy to read LED display and easy navigation with the rotary dial for volume adjustment while brewing. Fully programmable for all coffee, frothing and hot water functions, the C9 One Touch lets you set temperature, volume and strength for each button. Make one or two cups at a time, from one to a full 16 ounces. Cappuccino, latte or latte macchiato at the touch of a button without having to move the cup!
Keeps your milk cold for up to 8 hours.
First, turn on your machine, and then fill your reservoir. Then add your beans and select your coffee button. If you prefer preground coffee (specialty or decaf), the C9 is equipped with a funnel. Make sure you have a large cup under the spouts. Don’t drink this first cup because it’s going to be weak as it takes a cycle to get the beans into the chamber correctly.
After brewing your first cup you can adjust your grind to your taste and bean type. Once you’ve set your programs, all you have to do is hit your cup size and the C9 will automatically grind, tamp, pre-infuse and brew your coffee to your liking. And with that you’re ready to make some coffee.
First set your selector dial-- choose from brewing (1 cup or two cups), hot water, steaming or frothing-- depending on what you want. You can also increase or decrease strength or volume of your coffee. Put your cup (cups) under the spouts and go. Because you’ve pre-programmed everything, that’s all you have to do each time you use your C9. It’s that simple. Of course, you can always go back to the programming mode to change or readjust anything you like. But once you’ve set your programs all you have to do is hit your cup size and the C9 will automatically grind, tamp, pre-infuse and brew your coffee to your liking. Remember, the rotary dial allows you to temporarily override the the programming to prepare a special cup.
With one touch of a button, you can create cappuccinos and lattes and all your favorite drinks without having to move your cup. Simply press the button corresponding to your drink choice, and let the machine do the rest! Select hot water for tea or cafe Americano.
The machine is self-cleaning and the Clearyl water filtration system significantly reduces the need for decalcification. Automatic cleaning and replenishing programs are indicated in the display for: fill water, fill beans, empty used coffee, rinse coffee spout, rinse cappuccino spout, tablet cleaning, replace Clearyl filter.

Today I had the opportunity to dabble with my second Jura-Capresso machine, the Jura-Capresso Impressa C9 One Touch espresso machine. The Impressa C9 is a one-touch-super-automatic machine that can make water and milk based drinks with the push of a button. I tested this machine with Filicori Zecchini Gran Crema Forte whole bean espresso.
At first glance I was immediately a fan of the Impressa C9's black plastic casing. Additionally, I also really liked its transparent, side-mounted water tank. In my experience, the Jura-Capresso line of machines are great at telling you when the tank needs to be refilled, but there's something comforting about being able to see how much water you have left for yourself.
Powering on the C9 via the switch located in the back of the machine, my first thought was "hey, the glowing red dot looks a little like Hal 9000." Instead of a display screen, the machine has a basic LED red text display located above the drink buttons on the left side of the machine.
Joking aside however, the machine was very easy to use. While it doesn't have a display screen like the Jura-Capresso J9 that I looked at in my last blog, I found the buttons on the Jura-Capresso C9 model to be pretty intuitive. Small cup for an espresso, big cup for a coffee, etc. The machine can brew two coffees or espresso at once if you push the buttons twice. For milk drinks, I noticed that the Impressa C9 used all of the same button icon's that the J9's
frothing system did so I could tell which was which.
The quality of the coffee was great and the machine brews quickly, but I was curious about whether its settings could be customized. By opening a hidden panel beneath the display I accessed the rotary dial that allowed me to customize drinks and program the machine. Personally, I found the dial a bit tricky to use and made me feel a bit like a safe-cracker, but, I was doing it in the name of coffee. Just like the J9, I was able to modify the strength, volume and temperature of the drinks' preset values.
All in all, I found the Jura-Capresso Impressa C9 to be a very adroit one touch machine. If you enjoy making cafe style drinks in the comfort of your home, this machine delivers simple design, and good quality coffee making capabilities.

If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.
I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!

After trying this model at a friend's house, we decided to get our own 'super automatic' espresso machine for Christmas in 2011. I read reviews all over the internet and this is still the one I came up with. The cons that everyone seem to talk about are that it's a little fussy and when it needs to be repaired you have to ship it back to the manufacturer. I assume this is true and that it would be hard to find someone to work on it here. As ours is still very new, I have no personal experience with this. The pros that I have seen and can attest to is that it's pretty easy to use. It has a small digital display and several one-touch buttons. There is a hidden dial behind a hidden door that can single-time or permanently alter the functions of the buttons (e.g. you always want 20 seconds of milk foamed into your cappuccino). Because of this it both has an uncluttered display and is easy to use. If you can work a second-gen iPod with a dial you can use this. We abandoned the milk container without using it, our German friends convinced us it was hard to clean and much easier to use a glass container (like a beaker or a pyrex cup) for the milk. No problems so far. In under a month, we've gone through 3 lbs of coffee, so feel like we are getting plenty of use out of it. I would say that if you really want a lot of control over your espresso details--bars of pressure, tamping, temperature--this is not the machine you should get, regardless of how much it costs. It will not give you that kind of control. But, if you are amused by the idea of a Nespresso machine but don't want to be locked into pods of coffee or the waste that they produce, this would be a great step up from those. Also, if you really like a dark, oily bean, or a flavored bean, step away. This doesn't process either terribly well and the documentation is up front about that.
We bought one of the older models for my office almost 4 years ago. It has made over 30,000cups of coffee without ever having a problem. The only thing that has ever broken are the lids to the coffee/water bins do to overzealous opening. Very happy with this product!

After 11 years with the Saeco, I figured it was time for a change. I monitored forums for quite some time and looked at a lot of reviews and comparisons before pulling the trigger on the C9. Wow, what a wonderful machine! Cleaning is done almost automatically by just dropping in a tablet and letting it do its thing. Don't have to take anything apart. Programming is easy and repeatable. It makes great espresso, regular coffee, and various milk drinks every time. I like that it tells you when you need water or need to empty the grounds. The Saeco would let you just keep dumping more grounds into the bin until you had one heck of a mess. Yes, it costs 3 times as much as my Saeco did, but it does so much more, has a stainless steel heater (Saeco had an aluminum one that eroded through one time), and is idiot proof, which suits me............ Get one and you won't regret it.

Various green coffees that I roast myself in a Behmor.
A little bigger water container and especially a little more clearance for larger mugs under both outlets. That is really the only negative. It needs about one more inch of clearance.

What is the best type of coffee bean to use in the Jura coffee machine? Can I use any brand? Should the beans be dry, free of oil?

Michael Rosso ♦ Linda...Thank you for your question posted to our Super Wall. You can use any bean in your Jura (or any other Super Automatic Espresso machine)as long as it is not a oily bean. I suggest maybe starting with the Lavazza Super Crema or the Filicori Zecchini Gran Crema Delicato. I hope this information helps you, however if you have anymore questions please feel free to contact us directly at 1-888-411-5282 option 1. Thanks.
I am about ready to purchase. However I am wondering if I should purchase the IC9 or J6 or even the C5. What machincial reasons (if any) seperate the C5 @999. and the C( & J6 at 1,800 and 1,700

Michael Rosso ♦ Michael...Thanks for your interest in the Jura Espresso machines. There are no actual mechanical differences between these machines. The differences you will see are the functions and settings of theses machines. Thanks.
I don't seem to be able to compare the features of the Impressa C5, C9 and Z5. I am going to replace my C1500 and one of the most important features to me is the coffee temperature and the ability to get the milk hot. I can see all of this information for the Z5, but can't find it for the C5 and C9. Thanks.

Hi, I have a Gaggia Syncrony which I purchased about 5 years ago, I use it everyday and it is great. I am going to be buying a second machine and I am looking at the Gaggia Platinum Vision and the Jura Impressa C9. I am leaning toward the Gaggia, however, I am wondering if the Jura offers any features that are superior to the Gaggia, and just generally what someone familiar with both brands would have to say.
Thanks!

BaristaCorner Laura...Both Gaggia and Jura Capresso make wonderful machines, however I feel one of the most significant points that influences a majority of my customers is that Gaggia has a removable brew group that you can wash in your sink and replace, where Jura systems are closed and have to be cleaned with special tablets that you would have to purchase. I have the Gaggia Platinum Vision sitting at home on my counter right now and I have to tell you that I couldn't be happier. It makes an amazingly great quality shot and is very intuitive to program and use. I would love to have you call me so that I help to with your decision. Thank you...Eric Black
TechMilanoItalia No, this model does not have that feature.
