This Jura Capresso is a burr grinder with portion control. This is one of the best low-priced grinders we have tested and recommend it for drip coffee and espresso machines with Crema enhancing devices such as the Jura Capresso, Saeco, Krups and Solis machines. The portion control helps you control how many beans are allowed to drop into the grinding burrs. The burrs are easily accessible and only take a few seconds to get at them for cleaning. Please note that most grinders are tested at the manufacturer and coffee grounds may be found in the grinder as a result. All machines sold are new unless otherwise clearly stated. Available in white.

Features: Benefits: Coffee

This is an all-plastic impact resistant grinder that will hold up for years.

Multiple Grind Settings

The Burr Grinder Select has 17 grind settings and will grind from medium fine for espresso machines with crema enhancing portafilter to coarse enough for drip coffee. The adjustment knob is on the right side and is clearly visible.

Motor with Safety Switch

The high-speed 100 watt motor is connected directly to the burrs so both the motor and the burrs spin at the same speed. It has more than enough power to handle grinding without clogging or slowing down. If the motor overheats for any reason it will turn itself off before being damaged.

Flat Plate Burrs

These burrs are 42mm in diameter and can be easily accessed for cleaning in just a few seconds.

Easy to Use Controls

Push the "GRIND" button for 2 seconds and let go. The unique electronic bean sensor signals the machine to continue grinding as long as there are beans in the grinding bowl and then automatically stops. You may stop the grinding at any time by turning off the main power switch on the lower right side.

Bean Hopper with Portion Control

The bean hopper is made of clear plastic and can hold up 8 oz of beans. The top cover on the bean hopper turns and is also used to control the amount of beans that drop into the grinding burrs. For example, turn it 2 clicks for 4 cups of coffee and 4 clicks for 8 cups of coffee. If you don’t want to use the portion control feature of the grinder it can be used without it.

Ground Coffee Container

The ground coffee container will hold up to 6 oz of ground coffee. It is made of clear plastic and is removable for access.

Question by Matthew P.

Some of the burr grinders I have used in the past were extremely loud-any information on the noise that is produced by this machine? And if so, any recommendations on low noise burr grinders?
Whole Latte Love aswered:
All burr grinders are a bit noisy, and this one is no exception. When grinding, it rates at about 82db, which is fairly average for grinders in this price range. If youÂ’re looking for something a little quieter, I would recommend taking a look at the Capresso Infinity and the Solis Maestro. You... more
