Ideal for home use, the Jura-Capresso 4-Cup Espresso & Cappuccino Machine will help you brew fresh coffee on demand. This versatile kitchen must-have can make lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos using a special Coffee/Steam selector that will let you personalize any drink by controlling brewing and steaming options.
Features and Benefits:
The Jura-Capresso's steam/boiler system can heat up in less than 2 minutes; with such a fast warm-up time, you will be able to go from start to a finished drink in under 5 minutes! Its built-in swivel frother with adjustable steam output also makes frothing cappuccinos and steaming lattes a cinch. In addition, clean up is a breeze, given the dishwasher-safe carafe and removable drip tray. Plus, with a thumb guard on the filter holder and a boiler cap with a built-in safety valve, the 4 Cup Espresso & Cappuccino Machine is nearly accident-proof. Although, to avoid being surprised with burnt coffee, you should be sure to stop the brewing process before the hot water runs out.

If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.
I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!
Chance Great video. Covers the basics and really helps you find the category that fits your life. Super auto for me!

This is my 4th Capresso machine, and my least favorite. It still (after 6+ months of use) has a factory smell to it. The brew/steam slider bar worked great for about 2 months. Now it's fickle and doesn't always go to steam right away. I am very unhappy with this machine. It's a step backward from my previous Capresso.

Poorly designed, large and clunky. In spite of using the same coffee and amount of water as with previously used machines and following the instruction manual, coffee is very weak.

Michael Rosso ♦ Tricia...Thanks for your interest in the Capresso 4-cup Espresso & Cappuccino machine. The Gaggia Baby will make better espresso and allow you to froth more milk. Thanks.
We only have one rating on that machine. I would do a Google search and see what people say. It certainly is well priced and depending on what you are hoping to get out of the machine it will reasonably well. If you are hoping to get a great product then you may want to look at some machines that may cost more.
I have a more general question about espresso. I like coffee. I drink it in the morning and all day long (well, not in the evening, which I made the mistake of doing tonight and I'm still awake at 3:00 a.m.) I have had a Cuisinart Grind 'n Brew maker and now have a couple of Keurig k-cup models--one at home and one at work.
Recently, I began researching a better coffeemaker for home and read about Capresso brand models with a grinder and without. The info said the brewing temp was higher for better coffee--something I have also read about Cuisinart makers. Then, I saw espresso makers by Capresso and DeLonghi and wondered if espresso would be better tasting. The only time I have had espresso is in an upscale Italian restaurant and I rather enjoy the strong flavor, but the small drink size leaves me wanting a real cup of coffee.
Can you brew a larger cup of coffee in an espresso maker such as the Capresso 4-cup listed in this article? Or, just a 2-3 oz. cup of espresso? Is a Lattee just espresso with frothd milk on top? I do like latte's sometimes, thinking it may be easier on my stomach than a plain coffee.
What is the next step to finding coffee perfection--a better quality drip coffeemaker or an espresso machine?
ToddS That’s a pretty big question and I would have to write a book to answere it all in depth. But for this answer I’ll condense it down to assist in picking a direction.
In regards to the choice between a coffee machine and an espresso machine. With the espresso machine you can steam and froth milk which is a nice option. Your issue with there not being enough coffee in a shot of espresso can be solved by making an “Americano”. This is espresso mixed with hot water, you get the flavor of the espresso but not the strength.
If you want a grind and brew coffee maker look at the Capresso models, they have a nice burr grinder in them and they also make a nice quality product. If you don’t want a grind and brew then you get our best coffee maker and that is the Technivorm. You said that you drink coffee all day long, which makes me think you will want to go with a machine that has a thermal carafe. If you just get one with a hot plate then the coffee will evaporate over time and get pretty bitter.
I think the best machine for you would be a “super automatic” This is machine that grinds tamps and brews with the push of a button. This would allow you to brew any kind of drink whenever you want. For example in the morning you can brew a full cup of coffee with the push of a button. If you want it stronger you can add in an extra shot of espresso. You can make an Americano at around 10:00 and then do a latte as a lunchtime dessert, add in a little Monin vanilla syrup to really make it a treat.
My wife and I have used this machine and an earlier model to make cappuccinos for some years.
We may make from 4- 8 each morning. This machine is a bit of a pain as one has let it cool and then refill the water to start a new capp. We would like a machine that you could put enough water in to make 8 capps and then heat it up and do this with out any reheating or adding water.
TechMilanoItalia You may want to consider one of the pump-driven machines such as the Gaggia Classic (found here: http://www.wholelattelove.com/Gaggia/classic.cfm ), it has a 64oz. reservoir and can be used to make several drinks and can go back and forth between brewing and steaming (although some cool-down flushing may be necessary). Give us a call for further suggestions: 888.411.5282 option '1'
While I like my Gaggia, my wife would rather use her Braun Il Primo, however she is on her second one and I wanted to ask about the Capresso 4-cup espresso. Would this unit be a comparable unit and hopefully longer lived? Is the quality of the espresso as good or better? One of your competitors is offering free shipping.
TechMilanoItalia Mike, without knowing much about the Braun, providing it is a basic steam-brewing espresso machine, the two machines would be comparable. The quality of the espresso would be at the same level as well. Capresso does make a good quality product for the price, so if you are looking for something basic that won't break the bank, this will fit the bill. And as always, we have free shipping and no sales tax. ;-)
With no reviews, I don't know how reliable this machine is. I don't want to spend a fortune but I also don't want a machine that doesn't froth milk right or the frother breaks after a few uses. Those are some comments I read about other less expensive machines. What is the warranty on this machine? Would you buy it as a gift over other brands if this was your price point?
Thanks,
linda zimring
ToddS Linda, this machine should last you for a couple of years. It is not a pump espresso machine and it won't give the best espresso or have the best steam pressure. But it does work and if it is only being used for one or maybe two people at a time you will be able to make your drinks. It is a Capresso and they are a good company so at this price you can't do any better. Don't expect a lot of it and you won't be disappointed.
