Grinding

The Jura Impressa J6 has a durable conical burr grinder to minimize heat transfer and deliver consistent grinds. There are 6 grind settings to choose from, so you’ll be able fine-tune the grind as necessary. To change the grind setting, turn the adjustment knob in the bean hopper. Be sure the grinder is running while it’s being adjusted so that whole beans do not get caught between the burrs. The grinder has been insulated, to ensure quiet operation.

Bean Hopper and Bypass Doser

This super automatic features a 9oz bean hopper and bypass doser to accommodate pre-ground coffee. An integrated sensor monitors the bean container and will alert you when it needs to be refilled.

Water Reservoir and Filtration

The J6 has a large, removable 73oz water reservoir designed to accommodate a Clearyl water filter. The filtration system will remove impurities from your tap water to reduce scale and mineral build up and enhance beverage quality.

Brewing

---

With a 15-bar pump and fast acting thermoblock heating system, you’ll be able to brew cup after cup limited downtime. The Jura J6 is a one-touch machine, meaning that once you select your beverage preferences, the drink will be dispensed directly into your cup. This unit comes with default presets, but you’ll have the option of manually overriding the factory settings, should you choose to customize your beverages. Drink strength, volume, brew temps, and the amount of the water used for each beverage are all programmable, with the multi-faceted J6.

The J6 also utilizes Jura’s Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System (IPBAS) to make aromatic coffee and espresso. This two-step pre-infusion cycle gently saturates coffee grounds with hot water prior to extraction to preserve the flavor of your coffee. Additionally, the J6 has a Variable Brewing Chamber that automatically adjusts to house 5-16 grams of coffee and apply the appropriate tamp. The J6 can make up to two 8oz cups of coffee in one brew cycle.

Coffee Dispenser

With varying heights and circumferences, not all cups are created equal. The Jura Impressa J6 will let you accommodate a variety of cup shapes and sizes, thanks to a height and width-adjustable coffee dispenser. The dispenser has a height range of 2.6” to 4.37”, the width can be adjusted from 0.8” to 1.9”.This model also has a chrome cup stand and LED cup illumination to increase visibility.

Steaming and Frothing Options

A Dual Frother Plus and FrothXpress system is included with the Jura J6, giving you the ability to manually or automatically steam and froth. The Dual Frother Plus is a unique two-setting steam wand that capable of steaming for lattes and frothing for cappuccinos. Lifting the steam-control up will let you create steamed milk, turning it down will allow you to froth. The LED display will let you know when the J6 is up to steam temperature, the steam button is preset to dispense steam for 20 seconds before automatically shutting off, but this setting can be programmed to suit your preferences.

If you’re entertaining friends and family, you may want to take advantage of the FrothXpress system to dispense steamed or frothed milk directly into an awaiting cup. This system uses a milk tube and nozzle that can be attached to the machine and inserted into a milk container. The FrothXpress will draw cold milk, steam and froth it; then dispense the proper amount into your cup to create a latte, cappuccino, or macchiato.

Hot Water Dispenser

The Impressa J6’s steam wand doubles as a hot water dispenser for teas, hot chocolates, and Amercianos. Tea drinkers will be especially happy know that the J6’s hot water temperatures are adjustable. Since various types of teas require different temperatures for optimal brewing and steeping, this feature will let you adjust water temps accordingly to get the desired results.

Maintenance

The J6’s LED display will alert you when the dregs drawer needs to be emptied or a cleaning cycle is due. This unit is preprogrammed to walk you through automated cleaning, rinsing, and descaling cycles to keep your machine in brew-ready condition.
