Keurig B31 Mini Plus Single-Serve Coffee Maker from www.wholelattelove.comAnyone with a college experience similar to mine will be in for a number of late nights and early mornings. Now, whether you’re in a dorm, or in an apartment, getting that first cup of coffee can be essential to keeping you alert and productive for the rest of the day. I know that time and money are kind of a big deal for most college students, and I know you’re going to want to find a fast and affordable source of coffee. Don’t worry; we’re here to help.

When it comes to quick, convenient coffee, single-serve machines work very well. No mess, no hassle, and you never need to worry about brewing too much. If you’re worried about price, don’t be. Keurig My K-Cup Filter Basket from www.wholelattelove.comWe have a number of affordable single serve options like the Keurig B31 Mini Plus, and if you do go with a Keurig, you might want to check out the My K-Cup Filter Basket, an innovative accessory that allows you to use your own pre-ground coffee in your machine in addition to K-Cups.

While a single serve machine is likely to become a much worshiped and permanent fixture in your place of residence, necessity will sometimes require that your coffee be mobile and Bodum French Press Travel Set from www.wholelattelove.comwhen that’s the case, few things work better than the Bodum French Press Travel Set. Not only is it an actual French press for brewing coffee, it’s a stainless steel mug that you can take anywhere, how’s that for dual functionality?

Now the coffee. It’s true that you could go to any local grocery store and probably find some super cheap drip with remarkably clever names like “Brewer’s Choice” or “Happy Mountain Coffee,” and sure it’s kitschy and character building. But, when you don’t feel like drinking something that tastes like diesel fuel every morning, that’s when you check out our coffee instead. Even without a really expensive machine, good coffee is still good coffee.

Bodum Bistro Blade Grinder from www.wholelattelove.comYou might be thinking though that you’re limited to pre-ground, well think again. The Bodum Bistro Blade Grinder is a compact and affordable option for budget conscious bean lovers and is available in four colors.

No matter where you go, or what your major may be, remember that back to school doesn’t have to mean back to bad coffee!

Works great! Until it breaks.

It does what it is supposed to do, but it is made of such cheap plastic that it breaks every 3 months like clockwork, no matter how careful you are. It should be easy for them to make one that lasts longer, but I don't think that is in their best interests. It still beats buying the K-cups at 50 cents a pop, unless you absolutely need the convenience.

Zack Smith Carlo, There is a reusable filter that is compatible with the Keurig B30 machine. The filter you are looking for is call the Keurig my K Cup. It allows you to use pre ground in the machine. Here is the link to the item. http://www.wholelattelove.com/Keurig/my_kcup.cfm

How many ounces or tablespoons of coffee does this k-cup hold?
I like to put 6 tablespoons or so of espresso in my single serve drip coffee holder (no longer made) and make an inch or two of espresso which I add to hot milk from the microwave. It's a poor man's latte, but it works for me, and I'm not interested in capsules or pods .

I got a Brookstone single serve brewer for xmas, but the filter and basket is only good for 2 tablespoons of coffee.

Sincerely,
Natalie Pujo

mjackson ♦ The K cup holds about 12 grams of coffee. That is somewhere between a single shot of espresso of 7 grams and a double shot of 14 grams. It is not a lot of coffee, I would say it is good to make about an 8 oz cup of coffee. I am not sure if this would be what would work for you. I hope this helps. Maybe you should think about getting a stove top espresso machine that would seem better suited to what you are making. Here is a link to ones we sell.

I put the reuseable filter in my machine and coffee came out all over from bottom of machines brewer with grounds. Does the filter require a special insert plus the screen filter? If so where do I get one?

WholeLatteLoveRep1 Hi Guyette! Sorry to hear of your mess. When using the K-Cup Filter, you will need to remove the already existing portion that is in the machine. If you open the machine as if you are going to put a K-Cup in, you will notice that the portion that you put your K-cup into has a little white triangle on it. This will pull out and then allow you to put the K-Cup filter in it's place. If you do this and your are still having problems you can call Keurig at 866-901-2739.

Do they make a reusable coffee K-cup for the B140 Commercial coffee maker? This will really be a disappointment if not.

WholeLatteLoveS S The K-Cups are a standard size for all the Keurig machines. So you should be able to use the My-KCup in that machine to brew your favorite pre-ground coffee.
