Even though this KitchenAid coffee maker has a large 12-cup capacity, it features a designated 1-4 cup setting, so you can brew smaller drink volumes without sacrificing coffee flavor. Brewing
The KitchenAid 12-Cup Thermal Coffee Maker has a powerful 1100-watt heat pump and electronic temperature controls to deliver consistent brew temps. The thermal carafe has a 12-cup capacity, but if you only need to prepare a small volume of coffee, prevent waste and preserve the flavor and aroma of your beverage with the 1-4 Cup Feature. Choose the desired strength, using the Variable Brew Strength Selector (regular or bold) and you’ll have a custom cup of coffee. This KitchenAid model is also equipped with a Pause-and-Pour Option, which will let you stop the machine mid-brew and pour a quick cup of coffee. Additionally, you can set the Automatic Brew Timer to activate the brewing process and prepare fresh beverages any time of day.
Paper Filters & GoldTone Permanent Filters
This coffee maker can accomodate paper or GoldTone Filters. If you choose to go with a GoldTone filter, maintenance is hassle-free since it can be washed in the top rack of your dishwasher. The KitchenAid 12-Cup Thermal Coffee Maker features a flat-bottom brew basket to allow you to uniformly distribute coffee grounds for even extraction.
Water Reservoir and Filtration
The water reservoir is removable for easy refilling and maintenance; it uses a replaceable charcoal filter to eliminate water impurities.
