The GB/5 offers extensive programming that can deliver customized brewing to enhance the capabilities of the barista. With a range of options for increased ease-of-use, the GB/5 is a more practical choice for specialty restaurants and coffee shops that have a wide variety of multi-skilled users.
To operate this La Marzocco espresso machine, employees will simply need to press buttons or turn a knob, which requires limited training. However, learning the nuances of proper brewing, steaming, and frothing will necessitate more in depth training and practice regimens. Users can be directed to the following articles for detailed descriptions of the brewing and frothing processes, but hands-on training is a must for the best results.
The La Marzocco GB/5’s stainless steel steam wands are ball joint-mounted, so they can move in any direction for easy access with large frothing pitchers and cups. Thanks to La Marzocco's dual boiler system, ample dry steam is available at all times- even during your busiest hours.
To allow you to control the temperature of the brewing boiler down to the degree, the GB/5 features Proportional Integrated Derivative (PID) temperature control. This techology senses temperature fluxuation in the boiler, and pulses the heating element to maintain the set temperature within a ± 0.5°C variation at all times. With PID technology, you get unbeatable temperature stability, and you can customize a brewing temperature for each type of coffee you use, for the best flavor possible from every roast.
The GB/5 automatic features 4 programmable buttons for each brew group to provide customized brewing options to perfectly match your business needs. With variable temperature and water volume amounts for single and double shots, the GB/5 can be programmed to provide fast and consistent pulls during your busiest hours. Plus, the built-in hot water dispenser features a tea button that can be programmed as well, so tea drinkers can look forward to the same consistent performance that all of your customers expect.
For excellent temperature stability, each brew group in the La Marzocco GB/5 espresso coffee maker is welded onto the brewing boiler. This allows a large mass of hot water to spread from the boiler to the brew groups and maintain a stable temperature between the components.
To decrease downtime for servicing, this La Marzocco espresso machine has back-up devices that allow you to keep brewing even while a technician is testing or servicing many of the machine’s primary functions.
All of our La Marzocco espresso machines feature extra-large cup warmers to ensure you'll always have plenty of preheated cups ready to brew when you are.
Accommodating any environment, the GB/5 is available in a 200v (1 or 3 phase), 220v (1 or 3 phase), or 380v (3 phase) model. You can also choose between standard wattage and high wattage elements.
There are some extra parts that you may want to have on hand, as they do need to be replaced from time to time. These would include filter baskets, shower screens, and group gaskets.
This La Marzocco espresso machine will require a professional installation, which we can arrange for you at the time of purchase. Prior to installation, you will need to submit the following electrical and plumbing requirements (both found in the Installation Guidelines Diagram) to a general contractor, electrician, or plumber as well as your code enforcement officer to ensure the compliance of your facility with the needs of this espresso coffee maker. You may also want to go over this information with your electrician or contractor prior to purchase, as you will need to select your voltage and wattage preferences at the time of purchase.

If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.
I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!
Chance Great video. Covers the basics and really helps you find the category that fits your life. Super auto for me!
