Suitable Environment

The Lavazza Espresso Point’s low maintenance, hassle-free brewing, and simple operation make it perfect for office and retail use. The machine uses only specially designed, single-use cartridges of Lavazza’s signature espresso blends that create delicious shots with lots of crema. There is also a selection of tea, hot chocolate, and even consommé available for use with the Point, so there’s something to suit everyone’s taste. The machine also features a stainless steel steam wand, so steaming and frothing milk for cappuccinos and lattes is simple.

Operation

Brewing with the Lavazza Espresso Point is as easy as placing a cartridge in the brew chamber, closing the door on the front of the machine, and choosing 1 of 3 drink sizes. The Point will automatically start brewing and shut off when the preset volume is reached. You can also brew a customized volume by pressing the manual brew button once, then pressing the stop button. The steam wand is similarly controlled by pressing the steam button, then pressing the stop button to end steam flow.

Highlights

  • The Lavazza Espresso Point uses only mess-free cartridges that never require grinding, dosing, or tamping, so brewing is always simple.
  • Pre-set liquid volume buttons allow users to make a consistent drink every time they brew, with automatic shut off.
  • The Lavazza Espresso Point also has manual brewing buttons, allowing you and employees to customize the drink strength and size of your choice.
  • The Lavazza Espresso Point has durable chrome-plated stainless steel housing that makes an attractive addition to any office break room.
  • A stainless steel steam wand on the Lavazza Espresso Point allows you to steam and froth milk for cappuccinos and lattes.
  • The Lavazza Espresso Point’s 3-liter water reservoir means you can brew plenty of shots between refills.
  • The dump drawer on the Lavazza Espresso Point holds up to 30 spent cartridges, making maintenance a simple process.
  • A hot water dispenser on the Espresso Point lets users brew tea, hot chocolate, or instant soups that are not available in a convenient single-use cartridges.
  • UL and NSF approvals ensure compliance with health codes.
  • Dimensions
    • 14.5”H x 9.25”W x 12”D

Simple Cartridges

Unlike most semi-automatic espresso machines that must be paired with a grinder to brew to their maximum potential, the Lavazza Espresso Point requires only easy-to-use and cost-effective espresso and tea cartridges to make great beverages. This also eliminates the need for in-depth cleaning regimens that many semi-automatic and super automatic espresso machines require.

Consistent Brewing

Because the Lavazza Espresso Point has pre-set coffee volume buttons and brews using pre-packaged espresso cartridges, you can be sure that you and your employees can enjoy a consistent, delicious cup without grinding, tamping and measuring. These 3 pre-set buttons offer small, medium and large coffee or tea volumes, but you can always stop the flow of water using the stop button. No matter what your brewing experience level is, the Point provides straightforward, user-friendly controls.

Large Reservoir

When an espresso machine is being used in a busy break room or retail setting, a large reservoir is key for smooth operation. The water reservoir on the Lavazza Espresso Point can hold up to 3 liters, so there’s less time between refills. This large reservoir also ensures there’s plenty of steam ready for making cappuccinos and lattes.

Durable Housing

The housing on the Lavazza Espresso Point is made of chrome-plated stainless steel, designed to stand up to the rigors of commercial use, while still maintaining a traditional Italian style. Even the steam wand is made of stainless steel, ensuring dependable operation and easy cleaning.

Daily Maintenance

  • At the end of every workday or whenever full, it is recommended that the Point’s cartridge drawer be emptied and cleaned using warm water, non-abrasive detergent, and a soft sponge.
  • To clean the cartridge brewing chamber, the Lavazza Espresso Point comes with a special cleaning brush and a key to hold back the jaws of the chamber.
  • Clean the cup tray using a non-abrasive detergent and a soft sponge.
  • The steam wand on the Point should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth after each use to remove milk residue.

Installation

The Lavazza Espresso Point does not require professional installation and can be placed on any dry, level surface and plugged into a compatible outlet.

  • 120 Volts

I am using Filicori capsules in my Espresso Point machine and my shots are only about half the size as they are with the Lavazza capsules. I also noticed that I am getting a lot of water in the drawer. I assume there is a pressure relief valve after the flow meter that is bypassing the excess pressure caused by the Filicori capsules (the flow from them is very slow). My question is, can I do anything to fix this problem. Thanks

David,
I would recommend thoroughly cleaning the machine and performing a descaling cycle. See if that helps with the flow of water into the drawer.

my Lavazza espresso point machine will not power on. Fuses look good. My power cord is only about 8 months old. What else do you think it could be?

Sanfam ♦ The Lavazza Point machines are generally straightforward and somewhat non-serviceable. If the machine doesn't power on and appears to have a good cord, there isn't terribly much you can do short of testing with another cord (if only to rule out the one you have) and on another power circuit to rule out a problem with the mains power. If all else fails, you may want to set up a repair order for the machine--While they are typically the "tanks" of the espresso world, even they may occasionally require service. You're welcome to give our Technical Support department a call at 888-411-5282, Option 3.

I loved your video and thank you so much for putting it out there. I want this machine very badly. I noticed you have a refurbished one and was wondering what that means exactly. Does it still have a high count of coffees made; heavily used? I was almost able to get a refurbished one on ebay and then I found you. I will try to save money but only if it's almost new. What do you think?

Thank you,
Anne

I agree it is a very good machine and we have lots of customers who are very loyal to this machine. Our refurbished have been used less then thirty days. It should be pretty close to new. If we have a refurbished one you should get it as we do not normally have very many. Give us a call and we can get you going with the machine.

Do you know if the brass accents on this machine are unsealed. So that they will patina with age and loose that "shiny" look.I have another appliance that has similar accents and I like the aged look of the brass over time. But it will not do that if the brass has been sealed.

We did some research and the brass will not Patina. I am sorry but others ,like the fact it always looks new.

What is the difference between this machine and the INOX version? I specifically want a machine in all chrome, no gold accents. Is that the difference?

Blank cleaning / pre-heating cartridge was accidentally discarded by a well-intentioned friend. I have tried to find a place to order a replacement blank cartridge, but have been unsuccessful. Do you carry these blank cartridges? If not, any suggestions about where to find them? Thanks

mjackson ♦ Diana,

I know they do not come with machines anymore. You should get a good cleaner like cleancaf from Urnex and use that instead. I do not think even Lavazza has them available. The best thing to do is clean your machine often with a product like Cleancaf.

My Espresso Point machine has stopped working and leaks water out of the bottom instead of dispensing coffee from the spout.
Where can I have the machine serviced?
I received it PURCHASED from you, but as a GIFT

I'm sure it's out of warranty.

thanks

mjackson ♦ William,

It does have a warranty if you purchased within the last year. That warranty is covered by us. It is a limited warranty and if the machine has not been cared for properly it may not be covered. For an example if it is full of scale from hard water it will void the warranty. If it has been longer then that you can call Lavazza USA at 1-212-725-8800. Then can then direct to a repair shop. I hope this helps.

If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.

I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!

Bought this machine three month's ago, and makes the best espresso and cappuchino's, used other machine's semi automatic, manual, stove top, but this is easiest to use, no muss no fuss great tasting espresso. Other machines I used were all very good ,but this machine is easy to use and less clean up. Also much less expensive coffee pods than the competitor. I strongly recommend this machine. Hey!!! I'm Italian I know my espresso coffee.

Nice Durable Espresso Machine at The Right Price Point

Excellent quality espresso maker without spending an arm and a leg. This machine is the perfect machine for that on the go person who loves a great cup of espresso at moments notice without requiring alot of prep work or cleanup. The machine produces a tasty piping hot espresso yielding a thick rich crema that one would expect from the perfect cup. The machine heats up in less than 3 minutes and is ready to go upon insertion of the pod. The stainless steel and chrome construction of the machine is far superior to models costing double the price. Machine cleans up easy with a damp cloth in seconds. If you dont want to spend and arm and leg while looking for an exceptional cup of coffee this is the machine for you! If you were looking to purchase a lesser priced model do yourself a favor and go for the Lavazza Point: You wont be disappointed. I made about 30 cups for guests on Thanksgiving: Each and every guest had nothing but positives to express about the coffee and the looks/construction of this machine.
