Features

The Lavazza Blue 2312 is the ideal espresso machine for households or offices where espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes are in high demand. The Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine has been designed with quick and efficient operation in mind, featuring separate boilers for brewing and steaming, a 1 gallon water reservoir, and exclusive use of Lavazza Blue capsules. These innovative and convenient capsules hold just the right amount of pre-ground and pre-measured espresso to brew a great shot with plenty of crema. Simply place a capsule in the espresso machine, press one of the pre-programmed brewing buttons, and coffee is dispensed into your waiting cup.

This Lavazza machine has also been designed for ease of use, with a simple control panel that espresso-lovers of all experience levels can operate. With just 4 buttons and a blue LCD display, the Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine can be programmed to the temperature, brewing time, cup size, and water hardness of your choice. And, with 2 programmable brewing buttons, you can satisfy the tastes of a variety of coffee drinkers in your household.

The Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine also gives you the power to make your favorite café-style drinks. The manual steam wand lets you froth and steam milk with ease for macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes, and more. Plus, because the Blue 2312 has a dedicated steaming boiler, you can switch from brewing to steaming with no downtime in between.

Please Note: The Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine is for exclusive use with Lavazza Blue capsules, and cannot use Lavazza Point cartridges, Nespresso capsules, or ESE pods.

Features & Benefits: Coffee

Lavazza Blue Capsule System

The Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine brews using only Lavazza Blue capsules- single-servings of pre-ground, measured, and tamped espresso that have been sealed for freshness. All you need to do is place a capsule in the machine, press a brewing button, and in a few moments, you’ll have a perfect shot of espresso. After brewing, the espresso capsule is dropped into the used capsule drawer of the Lavazza Blue 2312, so making your morning cup of coffee is mess-free. When you want the convenience of the Lavazza Blue system, but aren’t in the mood for coffee, you can also brew using Lavazza Blue tea or hot chocolate capsules.

Programmable Brewing Buttons

This Lavazza espresso machine features 2 programmable brewing buttons for consistent and delicious results. The espresso (small cup icon) and coffee (large cup icon) buttons on the control panel can be programmed to dispense the liquid volume of your choice, from 2 to 12 oz. You can also control pre-infusion, brewing time, coffee temperature, and water hardness in the programming menu.

Control Panel with LCD Display

The control panel on the Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine has 4 buttons: espresso, coffee, steam, and stop. The LCD display makes it easy to program and control all of the machine’s functions, and will notify you when maintenance needs to be performed. Once all of the machine’s features have been programmed, brewing requires just the insertion of a capsule and the press of a button. Plus, to ensure the settings aren’t accidentally changed, you can password-protect the programming menu.

Coffee Pre-infusion

To get the most from your coffee, the Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine has an adjustable pre-infusion time. This feature will wet the coffee a few moments before brewing to draw out its aromatic oils, resulting in a more flavorful cup. You can lengthen or shorten the pre-infusion time in the programming menu.

Adjustable Temperature Control

Everyone has their own preference when it comes to the flavor of their coffee, and the same is true for temperature. The Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Maker lets you adjust the machine’s brewing temperature right in the programming menu of the machine, so you can customize it to meet your tastes.

Cup Warmer

If you brew into cold cups, your espresso can lose quite a bit of heat and flavor. Coffee and espresso should always be brewed into pre-heated cups to retain as much of your java’s temperature as possible. The Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Maker has a large cup warmer located on top of the machine with room to keep an array of demitasse and cappuccino cups nice and toasty.

Features & Benefits: Frothing and Hot Water

Powerful Steam Wand

If cappuccinos, lattes, and other milk and espresso drinks are in high demand, the Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine is ready for the challenge. With a boiler dedicated just to producing steam, you can switch right from brewing to steaming without having to wait for the machine to heat up to steaming temperature. To steam, just press the steam button on the control panel and it will be dispensed from the wand on the front of the machine. When you’ve reached you’re desired amount of froth, just press the “Stop” button on the control panel to halt the flow of steam.

Hot Water

The Lavazza Blue 2312 does not have a separate hot water function, but if desired, you can press and hold one of the brewing buttons without a capsule in the machine. Water at brewing temperature will be dispensed from the coffee spout, however programming settings will be altered. If you want to make tea or hot chocolate, it is recommended that convenient Lavazza Blue tea and hot chocolate capsules be used.

Features and Benefits: Care, Maintenance, & Other

Large Water Reservoir

This Lavazza espresso maker features a large, 1-gallon water reservoir that will ensure you have plenty of time between refills. Using the provided key, the reservoir can be easily unlocked and removed for filling and cleaning. This locking feature is great in office settings, and ensures only those trained on the espresso machine can remove and fill the reservoir.

Internal Capsule Drawer

After brewing is completed, Lavazza Blue capsules are dropped into an internal capsule drawer. Combined with Lavazza’s innovative capsule system, this drawer makes brewing a mess-free process. The drawer has room for up to 25 used capsules and can be removed for filling and cleaning.

Automatic On and Off Times

You can wake up to a heated machine, and rest easy knowing that the machine will automatically shut down with the Lavazza Blue 2312. In the programming menu, you can set automatic on and off times for each day of the week. This lets the machine work around your personal schedule, and eliminates the need for you to wait for it to heat-up before you can brew.

Energy Saving Mode

You can set the Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine to automatically go into standby mode after a certain amount of time has elapsed since its last use. In the programming menu, you can set the amount of minutes you want to pass before the machine enters standby.

Cycle Count

If you’re curious to see how much the Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Maker is being used, you can check using the LCD display. The Blue 2312 keeps track of how many times the espresso, coffee, and steam buttons have been used since the last time it was reset, and you can view these numbers when the machine is in programming mode.

Housing Construction

The Lavazza Blue 2312 Espresso Machine is housed in durable and stylish silver ABS plastic with metallic coffee and steam spouts. The machine also features 2 cup racks to accommodate both large and small coffee cups and to avoid splashing. The water reservoir is made of clear plastic, so you can easily monitor your water levels.

If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.

I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!

This is a very good machine. It's well made and produces good steam for frothing milk and the Lavazza capsules make rich espresso with good crema. Its reasonably easy to use once you understand the menu. It has presets for 1 or 2 espresso shots, a long shot and manual shot that you control by turning on and off. There are also switches for the steam wand which also dispenses hot water and lastly for the cleaning cycle. There are other menu options for the cup warmer, timer cleaning cycle and language selection among others. I'm using it at home, but it could be just as easily used in an office environment or small pub or cafe. So why only 4 stars? I give it four because of a few caveats. First, while it makes pretty darn good espresso, its not quite the match for freshly ground beans, hand tamped and pushed through a portafilter of a commercial machine that has an Faema E61 brew group. I have a commercial machine like that, and its really great, but its a lot more work and mess (and time to warm up) which is why I got the Lavazza - which is ready at a moments notice. The other concern is the coffee. Only Lavazza makes this particular "capsule" and while its very good - you have no other brand options unlike something like a Keurig capsule machine where are more than a dozen roasters making compatible capsules. All in all, this machine is the picture of simplicity and does a great job. Its performance and ease of use more than make up for the minor tradeoffs. A job well done. Ec

We used this in an office setting for 4 months. Functioned perfectly. I prefer this Lavazza machine to the Espresso Point. I've used the espresso point in other office settings. It's good but the coffee from the Blue is just a bit better. Having this espresso machine in house was much appreciated by the staff because anyone could use it, even the most technology challenged, and the quality of the coffee was excellent.

I do not own this machine but used it daily for 10 days on a recent cruise. I am incredibly impressed by the quality of the coffee and the performance of the machine. I would have given it all 5's except I notice the pods are a bit expensive. Only other con: build quality is plasticky and cheap feeling, although it is very heavy (no...did not try to take it). But the espresso is creamy and smooth, rich in flavor and complex. The frother, though small, gives a very thick and creamy froth. The cappuccino was comparable to anything I had in Europe.

Hi - What are your thoughts on this machine? Any alternative to the pricy prioprietary coffee pods that appear to be required? I would think this is a big detriment to the appeal of this machine... or is the $60/ per 100 actually not a bad deal when it's all said and done? thanks.

MikeR It's actually not that bad when compared to other proprietary single shot systems, about middle of the road. The Pointe is slightly better for cost, but if per shot cost is a driving factor, consider a semi-auto with pods. You have almost as many drink choices(more when you consider all the different companies that produce ESE pods), and you can get some pods under 40 cents each. I think the LaVazza pods net out about 35 cents each.
