Operation
The Mazzer Mini Electronic Type B requires less training than standard commercial grinders, because it features programmable dosing. Once programmed, users need only push the portafilter against the dosing button once or twice to get preset single or double quantities automatically. This means your employees will always use consistent coffee quantities, reducing the margin for error in each shot. Adjusting the grinding burrs is also very easy, with an adjustment plate that can be rotated by hand anytime you want to change the fineness of your grind.

Commercial-Grade Grinding Burrs
The Mini Electronic Type B features large, 64 mm grinding burrs constructed of Swedish hardened steel. Powered by a 250-watt motor, these low-noise grinding burrs perform at speeds up to 1600 RPM. Plus, these larger burr plates don’t get bogged down when you adjust your grind settings, so you’ll get a quality grind at almost any level of fineness.
Programmable Dosing
The Mazzer Mini Electronic Type B features a unique automatic dosing system so you can customize single and double quantities to suit the needs of your business. A button at the base of the doser begins the grinding cycle, and is activated when a portafilter is pushed against it. A single press will dispense the preset single shot quantity, and a double press will dispense the preset double shot. With the Mini Electronic Type B, users can multitask without having to worry about getting different results from each dose.
Virtually Infinite Grind Settings
With the Electronic Type B, you can change the grind settings for espresso or coffee quickly and easily. The adjustment plate can be rotated with exceptional precision, so you can fine-tune your grind to just about any level of fineness. Plus, the adjustment plate is marked at numbered increments, so you can write down the fineness settings for all of your different coffee recipes.
Compact Bean Hopper
The Mini Electronic Type B features a 1 lb bean hopper that is only 4 inches tall when in place. The hopper features a plastic lid to help seal in the freshness of your beans, and it can be easily removed for fast refills without interrupting production. The hopper itself is also removable, and can be swapped out with other hoppers even when full.
Durable Construction
The Mazzer Mini Electronic Type B is housed in a single solid sheet of die-cast aluminum, so you know it is built to last. Not only is it durable, it’s stylish as well, with clean, professional stylings to compliment any professional setting.
Daily Maintenance
- At the end of each day, wipe down the Mini Electronic Type B's exterior with a clean, non-abrasive cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive products.
Periodic Maintenance
- The Type B's 1 lb bean hopper should be removed and washed by hand with a mild detergent whenever it is empty.
- Depending on your level of use, you should you clean the grinding burrs with Urnex Grindz on a monthly basis. These food-safe, grindable tablets can be ground just like coffee beans to absorb coffee oils and loosen buildup inside of the grinding chamber.
Installation
The Mazzer Mini Electronic Type B does not require professional installation and can be set up on any level counter surface away from water. It will plug into any standard 120-volt outlet with ground service.

With regard to the Mazzer Mini Electronic Type B grinder, what does (pre-order) mean as far as expected delivery time?
What is the difference between the grinder here ( http://www.wholelattelove.com/Mazzer/typeb.cfm ) and the one in the link for "commercial" on the same page.
Is this the current model from Mazzer? The ones I have seen have the power cord coming out the back of the machine not the left side.

It is the same model and it is the newer model not the older model pictured on commercial page. Pre-order means it is out of stock. I also would look at the Ceado E37 as well but we are also waiting for those to come into stock as well. The Mazzers are expected June 1st. I hope this helps and have a great day.

Mazzer Mini Electronic Type B
does the 16.7 inches H include the height of the hopper? My under-cupboard space is barely 17", so this would determine whether I could use this grinder.

What grind settings do you recommend for the Mazzer Mini Type B? How do I know if I am grinding too fine or too coarse?

Michael Rosso ♦ Brandon...I would suggest you start grinding at a setting about three quarters of the way to the finest setting. You will know if the grind is to coarse by how fast your shot brews (best espresso 20-25 seconds at 8-9 bars of pressure). Thanks
TechMilanoItalia Drew, most people prefer to have a separate tamper as it is easier to apply the correct amount of pressure.
Mazzer Mini Electronic Type B
I have a Mazzer Mini model 0633734 with doeser like the larger units. It is possible to convert the doser to the new unit featured on the type B and if so how much would it cost, can I do it myself or would I need to send it in?

TechMilanoItalia Unfortunately, you cannot easily convert that machine over to the Type B components as there are more electronic components on the inside of the machine that would be involved. Your best bet would be to sell your current Mini and to purchase a new Type B.

Great machine. If your a coffee lover and your looking to upgrade your grinder for your home this is the one. I'm not going to break down all the features and bore you. All you need to know to use this grinder is experiment with the grind setting until you draw the perfect shot. That's it ! Also when you start to use your grinder first thing each day push the portafilter into the front start buttom to start the grinder for 5 seconds and that will clear the leftover grinds in the machine from the day before and discard. Your ready to roll

3 years of use, this thing is rock solid. The adjustment mechanisms are effective and easy to use. The grind dose is controlled by internal timers easily adjusted with a small screwdriver on the front of the machine. The grind shoots directly through the dispenser into your filter basket with no place for grinds to collect and stale. The grind is initiated by pushing the button on the front of the machine at the filter basket support bracket. I find it most convenient to just hold the basket there without the portafilter handle, collect the grind, then, move to a flat surface where it's easy to tamp, and then insert into the handle assembly. The micro adjustments for fine/coarse grinds make it easy to get very tweaky with your different coffee beans. Built like a brick outhouse, what more could you ask for. Worth every dollar spent.

The overall design with the shorter hopper. Grinding the coffee when you need it right into the coffee filter basket. It has low noise and very consistent results.
Some Helpful Tips For Using this Product:
I usually try to shake the coffee basket handle a little while it is filling to minimize the runoff of the grounds. I'm sure this is a funtion of how much coffee you like. We prefer strong espresso and so there is quite a pile in the basket and shaking levels it out.

I bought the Mazzer Mini P 1st but after it arrived I realized the doser is way too big for our needs. My wife and I have a latte every morning. We love fresh coffee and unfortunately the doser is so large that you must grind a fair amount of coffeee for it to measure out the correct dosage. Well that means the ground coffee would be at least a few days old on the bottom. It is also somewhat messy. I sent it back and got the Electronic B. Way better!

Fabulous machine. Ultra high quality. Electronics make it a "no-brainer" to use. "B" version eliminates the extra electronic cord you get on the "A" unit as control button is integral to the main body of the machine. That is the big difference between the two.
