Blind Filter Basket - Backflush Disc
Will this work on an Expobar Office Lever? The rubber disk that came with the machine seems to have shrunk over time and it is difficult to get the pressure up enough to do a good back flush.

Most commercial semi-automatics require backflushing on a daily basis to get rid of coffee residue and build-up that can change the taste of your espresso. This stainless steel disc is for use on machines with a 3-way solenoid valve. Simply place it in your portafilter along with backflush cleaner, and begin the process that should be detailed in your machine’s manual.

Will the stainless steel blind filter basket (for backflush) work on my Pasquini Livia 90 espresso machine?

That backflush disk will not work for the Livietta, as they are 58mm while the Livietta has a 57mm portafilter. You best source for information on the backflush disk for the Livietta would be our tech department, which can be reached at 1-888-411-5282 option 3.

It is not recommended but can be done if you do it carefully. Do not let it remain under pressure for more then 8-12 seconds. Just be sure you read the directions on how to backflush and use only about 1/4 teaspoon of back flush cleaner like cafiza.

I have the Rancilio Silvia expresso machine and need a backflush disc. I didn't realize I needed to descale and backflush. Which do you recomend the black rubber disc or the stainless steel?

Michael Rosso ♦ Tammy...Either the black rubber disc or the stainless steel will work good with your Rancilio Silvia espresso machine. The only differences between the black rubber disc or the stainless steel backflush disc is the price and life of the disc. Therefore I would suggest you purchase the stainless steel backflush disc for the extended life reasoning. Thanks.

This basket will fit and does work well. I would also caution you to be careful as this is not a procedure recommended by Rancilio. Make sure you do not damage your machine and you understand how to backflush your machine.

Blind Filter Basket - Backflush Disc
I have had my machine for about 8 years (Rancilio Silvia) and have never had to do any maintenance. About a year ago I replaced the brew group gasket. It looks like I need to do that again as I am getting a lot of water drippage through the portofilter. Should I also get a backflush disc? I read that the manufacturer does not recommend it for the Silvia even though it has a 3-way valve. Instead should I buy a new shower screen? Thanks for any info.

It is a good idea when you replace the gasket to replace the shower screen as well. It will help keep your machine running well. The backflushing can be done, but you should read about doing that to your machine before attempting and how if done wrong it can break your machine. We do not recommend it as it can cause damage to your machine. I hope this helps and let us know if you have any more questions.
