Rancilio Silvia Pod-Adapter Kit
I have the "old" version of the pod adapter. It's going on 5 years now and I just replaced my group head gasket and noted there are two gaskets on the brass insert. Where do I get these gaskets?

Rancilio Silvia Pod-Adapter Kit
Greetings - how can I tell which version of the Sylvia I have? I see below that you can tell by the drip tray - but it's not exactly clear how to tell. Is there a foolproof way to tell what version I have? Maybe serial number or something? Need to know if I can use the pod adapter. Thanks

Rancilio Silvia Pod-Adapter Kit
We have a Rancilio Silvia V3. Regarding the pod-adapter kit: Do we need to install that permanently, so that we always have to use pods?
What we are looking for is a pod-adapter kit for our machine that can easily be inserted and taken out. We always use freshly ground espresso beans but would like to use pods for decaf as to not having to switch regular and decaf coffee beans back and forth in our burr grinder.

mjackson ♦ It as you are aware not easy to switch. You may want to try brewing a pod with just the pod and see what you think about the results.

Rancilio Silvia Pod-Adapter Kit
How much effort is involved switching back and forth between regular and pod-adapted Silvia? Is a screwdriver (or some other tool) required to make the conversion each time? Thank you!

It is not that hard to change and just takes a small Phillips head screwdriver. I don't think it would be something you would want to do every shot but it still can be done.

Will this pod adapter fit older Rancilio Silva machines, mine is 3-4 years old?

The pod adapter kit will only work on the version 2 or 3. It will not fit models manufactured before 2007. You can tell by the drip tray as it has three little circles on the drip tray cover.

Is the Rancilio Pod-Adapter Kit only for use with the newly designed Miss Sylvia machine?
I have an older machine, which looks very much like the same unit (changes appear to be cosmetic only).
Please let me know.

The pod kit for the Rancilio Silvia only works in the newest version (the "V2"). If your machine has a drip grid that has the same size holes over the entire surface of it, you have the version that can not use the new pod kit. The V2 has a different pattern on the drip grid. On the steam wand side there is a curved pattern of holes. on the brew side is a circle of slits.

techkathy The gaskets are Teflon spacers. We do not carry them but you may be able to get them from Rancilio. Visit www.rancilio.com to contact the manufacturer about purchasing just the Teflon spacers.
