Rancilio Water Softener
Designed for the Rancilio Silvia espresso machine, the Rancilio water softener is recommended to soften or demineralize the hardness of your water. This process will help prevent calcium/scale buildup in your espresso machine boiler. The water softener is rechargeable by simply placing in a salt solution--instructions are included or see instructions here.
Tech note: Scale buildup is the number one problem of boiler failure. It can lead to premature steam valve leakage, heating coil corrosion and even pump failure--similiar to the effects cholesterol has on the human body.
