This Package Includes:
From beginning to end, the Saeco Incanto Deluxe has every detail right to give you the best possible shot of espresso. Your beans are stored in a dark tinted hopper; this protects them from the damaging effects of light, moisture, and air. When you press the brew button the correct amount of beans are ground using a built-in ceramic disc grinder, which can be adjusted to vary the fineness of the grind for different coffee strengths. The grounds are then pre-infused, which brings out the depths of the coffee oils and aromas. Last, the espresso is dispensed directly into your cup, which you can preheat on the machine’s active cup warmer. From start to finish, the Saeco Incanto Deluxe takes each step seriously, and delivers an incredible shot of espresso.
All this takes place inside the Incanto Deluxe’s sleek and modern metal frame. ABS protective plastic on the top makes this machine even more durable, and the swivel base allows you to move the machine with ease, so it’s not a hassle when you need to free up a bit of counter space. This machine was designed with a home kitchen in mind – its impressive looks and quiet brewing and grinding allow it to fit in well to different settings, no matter how many people in the household drink espresso. Even non-coffee drinkers will love the automatic steam and hot water wand, perfect for dispensing hot water for soups and teas, as well as steaming and frothing milk for steamers, chai lattes, or hot cocoas.
The stainless steel steam wand makes for easy frothing, so you can quickly begin making your own cappuccinos, lattes, and other drinks. Indeed, you are completely in control whenever you use this machine. The Rapid Steam system gives you separate boilers for brewing and steaming, so you can move between brewing and steaming without long lag time. Use the 3 programmable brew settings for different drinks, and turn the Saeco Brewing System (SBS knob) to fine-tune the extraction even while brewing. The grind settings are also adjustable, so you can grind finer for a stronger cup of coffee, or coarser for a milder one. If you prefer a different blend than the beans in the hopper, all you have to do is pour pre-ground coffee into the bypass doser and the Incanto Deluxe will brew using that instead. This machine includes a 1 year warranty directly through Saeco.
A blue-backlit LCD screen ensures clarity when you program your drink preferences. Below the LCD screen are 2 rows of buttons, a top row of 4 buttons and a bottom row of 3. Together, the buttons and the LCD screen allow you to vary the pre-brewing cycle; use pre-ground coffee and bypass the beans in the hopper; activate the cup warmer; change the settings for rinsing and energy usage; set the water hardness; turn the cup heater on and off; change the coffee temperature; see how many coffees the machine has dispensed; alert you when descaling is necessary; program automatic on/off times; and return all of these variables to the default factory settings. The top row of buttons is for programming the preferred volume for your 3 different brews, and a button for the bypass doser. Simply press and hold the button corresponding to the drink you want to program until the desired amount of espresso is reached, and from then on the machine will automatically dispense that amount. The bottom row of buttons is for hot water, “OK,” and descaling.
The coffee dispenser has an SBS knob, which varies the amount of pressure for a stronger or milder shot. On the right side of the machine is the steam knob for foaming and steaming milk. Located on top of the machine, the grinder can be adjusted to change the fineness of the ground. To give you direct control over coffee strength, within the bean hopper is a doser that lets you vary the amount of grounds in each shot of espresso from 6-9 grams by turning it towards the “+” or “–” sign.
The Incanto Deluxe brews espresso shots of gourmet quality and also includes high-end features essential for a variety of specialty drinks. All you have to do is press the button of the type of coffee desired, and the machine dispenses. If you want 2 coffees, press it twice. The Pannarello steam wand froths milk for cappuccinos and lattes and also serves as a hot water dispenser for tea, hot chocolate, or Americanos. Many use home espresso makers for “café crema,” an espresso brewed long to fill a normal-sized mug. The pressure-brewing espresso process extracts more flavor and creates a more aromatic and tasty drink. Your old drip coffee maker will be available at next summer’s garage sale.
This coveted feature allows you to switch back and forth between brewing espresso and using the steam wand for frothing without delay. With the dual exchange boiler system there’s less time between brewing and adding your steamed or frothed milk, so you’re sure to get a nice, hot drink every time.
This feature is for pre-ground coffee only and allows you to brew a different kind than what you already have in the bean hopper. It is perfect for entertaining decaf-only drinkers or when you want an after-dinner coffee without the caffeine. This is also great for experimenting with different types of coffee.
The SBS controls the flow rate of your espresso as it brews by varying the pressure. Turn to the left for a perfectly extracted espresso or to the right for a mellow café crema. This innovation lets you adjust the taste of your drink while brewing.
The Saeco Aroma System® is why espresso brewed with this super automatic is so rich and robust. The machine takes 2 seconds to moisten and condition the ground coffee first. A 2 second delay then gives the aromatic oils time to infuse with the water. The second step triggers the high-pressure pump to ensure maximum flavor extraction and a rich aroma.
Ceramic grinding burrs produce an even grind, are durable, and are made of an inert material that won't affect flavor. The adjustable grind feature inside the bean container has 7 settings. This dial adjusts the grind from fine to coarse depending on the drink you are making. Espresso, for example, uses a finer grind while café crema requires a coarser grind. Turning the dial clockwise creates a coarser grind and the coffee is dispensed faster, while turning the dial in the opposite direction creates a finer grind and the coffee is dispensed slower.
The removable, dual dispensing spout moves back and forth to fit different size cups. This feature prevents spills, whether you’re brewing into a small espresso cup or a large mug, and keeps the espresso warm. It can accommodate espresso cups (4 oz) or coffee mugs (8 oz).
Preheated cups are a prerequisite for all espresso drinks. This ensures temperature stability and preserves the flavor of the espresso. The Incanto Deluxe includes an active cup warmer, which is electrically heated and can be turned on to heat cups and turned off when not in use.
Hot water can be dispensed at any time from the water and steam wand. This feature is great for hot cider, soups, or tea. The Incanto Deluxe’s Rapid Steam system allows you to switch quickly between brewing and steaming, without wait time in between.
The Incanto Deluxe features the renowned Pannarello frothing wand. This high-quality a stainless steel wand sprays steam in 3 directions to create a rich and even froth without a hassle.
The removable reservoir holds 68 oz of water; this can provide for 30 espressos before needing to refill. When the reservoir runs low, the LCD screen alerts you and prompts you to fill it. The water reservoir is equipped for an Aqua Prima cartridge filter to help purify the water. Saeco recommends this cartridge and it is available separately. If not purchased, the machine needs to be decalcified more often.
The Incanto Deluxe has an updated brew group designed for even better coffee. Like others before it, this brew group is easy to remove. You open the front panel and press the lever to release the brew group. This lets you reach every component that brews the coffee for cleaning.
The dregs drawer is inside the machine and conveniently accessed from the front after sliding out the drip tray. The LCD display will tell you when the dregs drawer needs to be emptied. It can hold approximately 13 espresso pucks.
The Incanto Deluxe holds 10 oz of whole bean coffee – more than enough for 35 espressos before you need to refill it. This storage keeps beans fresh by protecting them from light, moisture, and air.

My wife and I have had this machine for almost 1 year and 1,000 coffee's. It has been a great machine thus far. Perfect cup of coffee every time. Besides using a standard coffee bean, we use the Bypass dosser quite a bit. The machine is a great size for our counter top and the height is perfect for it to be under the cabinets and still get water and beans into the machine. My wife and I got the programming and settings tweaked for a perfect cup of coffee. The display, settings and custom-ability are perfect on this machine, simple and easy to use. I hope Saeco continues making this machine. I prefer it over the other models that have color displays, icons and fancy gadgets such as finger print readers. The Incanto Deluxe is simple to use with much custom-ability in its settings. Its reliable and works perfectly.
I have had this machine a few years now... had 2 others and the grinder gave out on one and the other had a brew group problem, BUT this one has been the crown jewel... The other 2 were the Royal group. Just brewed cup #5727 and it is still working like a charm... IF anything happens to it, I will probably have it fixed, when you find something that works you KEEP IT!!! One coffee ONLY in it "Lavazza Qualita ORO" Buy it through a coffee broker in Southern California direct "Produit en Italie" Love the coffee and the machine.
I have had this machine for several years (3316 coffees, according to the machine's count), and it has never needed a repair. I agree with the reviewer who said he couldn't get a decent cup of espresso; I expected better from this machine. However, I usually have soy latte's, so it doesn't bother me, and I should say my taste is in my mouth - I'm no expert. Plus my wife just got one of those pod machines, and if I really want a good cup of black coffee, I can get it from that (or I can steam the milk with my machine and make the coffee with hers!) The one problem I have had is that it is temperamental when you try to use the preground coffee feature. It very frequently just drops it through without making the coffee!
I have had 2 Incanto Saeco machines. Neither has made it up to 2 years before it has needed repair. My current machine has been returned for service twice in 6 months and now is failing again in less than 3 months. Our use is not heavy. We make 5 lattes a day. I would not buy another Incanto machine in the future.

On balance, this has been an excellent machine with markedly better coffee quality than my Magic Comfort +. (I attribute the improvements to the better grinder, a better screen and more metal parts internally to maintain heat throughout the coffee-making process.}

Very easy to use and clean. Excellent coffee quality, whether straight espresso or steamed milk drinks.
1. If you steam before drawing the coffee, it's a good idea to draw a bit of hot water after steaming is finished and before drawing the coffee to equalize pressure in the boiler. I've run into a sort of pressure block when I forget to do this. (Then you have to do the ventilate routine.) It also clears the nozzle. 2. Vis-a-vis the point above, make sure you have enough beans in the hopper for a full dose.

Counter Culture Coffee
Repair issues seem to cluster around the steamer (versus the boiler in the case of the Magic Comfort+), so if you do a lot of lattes, you may run into a repair need. Seems to be the weak link in the chain. Also, the machine will willingly short dose a cup of coffee if there are not enough beans in the hopper. You will not get an "empty" warning if the beans available fulfill more than one half the dose.

I have a Vienna Deluxe which I used for several years. I have been happy with it and it makes good espresso, in fact it is a workhorse since I have not had any trouble with it for several years. Recently I decided to upgrade based on my good experience with Saeco, and purchased the Incanto Deluxe. I cannot seem to make a decent espresso however much I try to adjust the controls. I could not find any info on the web how to make a good espresso using this machine. The espresso is also not consistent, sometimes it will make a decent espresso (although still weak) and sometimes it comes out watery as if sufficient beans did not go through the grinder. I adjusted the "Aroma" setting to Strong since I think it controls the amount of coffee dispensed and it still feels weak. In addition I notice that the used coffee grounds which used to be perfect round coffee pucks in the Vienna deluxe ends up as a slosh of wet grounds in the Incanto. The machine looks nice, I like the standby feature, the bypass doser, the rinsing, the water filter you get with it and its a lot quieter than the Vienna Deluxe, but it fails in the most important aspect i.e to produce a good shot of espresso. Also the steaming wand does not produce as dense as the foam I get with the Vienna Deluxe, it seems to have more bubbles

Aroma should be set to strong to get a decent espresso. You may want to turn off the pre infusion since I feel its making my espresso weaker.

We have an Incanto Delux and love it, but I'm extremely frustrated as of late. My coffee grinds and then the machine sounds like its gearing up for prebrewing and then nothing, grounds go into the dredges drawer and it looks like grounds exploded inside as they are everywhere, after several tries it will work sometimes, others with no luck and I end up at the coffee shop. Going without my coffee is a no go with 3 kids including an infant :/ Sometimes if after several tries of it not working, I remove brew unit and rinse, it will then work. I've taken it apart and cleaned it, lubricated it, descaled it, etc and nothing. I'll be at the point of taking it for a service call when it will up and work well for several weeks. I just want to know I can get coffee when I want it! Then this morning it was acting up, it finally after 3 tries said descale, I removed brew unit to try and rinse it off to get out one precious drink and now brew unit won't go back into place. Any help with what to try is greatly appreciated.

CustomerMan ♦ Hi Jessica, I'm sorry you're having trouble with your machine. I think I have some solutions for you. First, watch and follow this video on removing and reinstalling a stubborn brew unit http://www.wholelattelove.com/videos.cfm?playvidID=415 .
Second, after you are able to get your brew unit installed, adjust your grind setting to something slightly more coarse and your dosage to a slightly lesser setting (dosage is the amount of espresso used per shot). Your brew unit is most likely "ditching" the grounds that you intend to use because its having trouble compacting and forcing water through them. If this doesn't resolve the issue please let us know.
What are the differences on the prebrewing settings ON vs LONG? And should i the first portion of the brewing cycle when using prebrewing be discarted?

mjackson ♦ Jose,
You may want to go ahead and set it to long as it may give you a better tasting coffee. I also would not discard the first shot as it is not necessary. I hope this helps.
When I turn on the steam knob, it steams weakly about 30 seconds, then peters out, sometimes sputters back with another 30 seconds of weak steam, but ultimately stops and says CLOSE KNOB, then VENTILATE.

mjackson ♦ Doug,
You need to run hot water out of your steam wand until the ventilate sign goes away. It may or may not take a while. It could be a number of things but most likely a flow meter is restricted somehow. If you can clear it by running hot water that should get rid of the message. It may take a lot of water to be able to do this. If it does not work you may want to call the technical support at Saeco USA.
Brewunit blocked message. Had repaired authorized dealer. He replaced gears. Worked for a few brews now message brewunit blocked again

mjackson ♦ Mary,
It is tough to say exactly what the problem is. I would call where you had it worked on and see what they had to say. I am not sure what they did or what they did not do. I am sure they can help. It may be something simple or it may have been something missed in the repair.
On start up, I am getting the display blinking "self-test", and the usual pre-rinse does not happen anymore. Once it has stopped this clicking (like it was trying to do something), it says ready for use. Press the button, and then it grinds, then goes back to the "self-test" display again. The dredge drawer has the grinds, but no coffee comes out. After 2-3 of these, it will then (finally) make a cup of coffee. I have taken it apart, cleaned the whole machine out, cleaned the ceramic grinder, de-scaled, etc...nothing has helped.
Suggestions?

I am sorry for your troubles. I am going to email you two documents that may help. It could be a check ball in your brew group is stuck. It also may be a problem with the screen in your brew group. They do have pictures that should help. If these don't work go ahead and call our technical department or Saecos help line. I hope this helps and look for my email.
We purchased a Saeco Incanto just over 2 years ago, and have had nothing but trouble. We have returned it 3 times and it just failed again this morning. No water will come through the steamer. Just cleaned it last night. Only use bottled water. Did we get lemon? What can we do?

I have unit 3 months now, I clean every 2 weeks and descale when light flashes. The last week it has slowed down in brewing the cup of espresso and now it has stopped all together. I decided to turn it off, clean it and then turn on and descale it. After turning back on it wont load the circuit and keeps flashing that request. Now it is stuck in the "load circuit mode". HELP

Michael Rosso ♦ Meredith...Sorry to hear about the trouble with your machine. It sounds like you may have developed an air void in your boiler. To correct this problem first make sure you have clean water in your tank. Then simply open your steam wand and allow only water(not steam) to run through it. This should remove the air void. However if this doesn't fix your problem, and because you have had the machine for only 3 months you will need to contact Saeco directly at 1-800-933-7876. Any further questions feel free to contact me at support@wholelattelove.com. Best of luck.

BaristaCorner Hi Bonnie...Ceramic burrs have 2 great advantages over stainless steel burrs. First of all, ceramic does not heat up from the friction of grinding coffee beans as much as stainless steel, so the flavor characteristics that were intended for that coffee when it was roasted are not altered and you have a high quality of brew. Second, ceramic burrs last almost twice as long as stainless steel burrs do. I hope that this helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call me at 888-411-5282, extension 5140. Thank you...Eric Black
Hi, I have a Saeco Incanto and both short & tall selections give the same very short coffee. It is very nice with crema but very very short. How can I increase the dosage? There doesn't seem to be a mechanism for it, nor is it in the manual. I have compared it to my sister's Saeco (different model) which makes a real short and a real tall.

TechMilanoItalia Terri, for most machines, reprogramming the quantity is achieved by pressing and holding the button to be reprogrammed through the entire brew cycle and then releasing it when the desired quantity is reached. The next time that button is pressed once, it should brew to the same level in the cup.

techkathy Try resetting the machine to the factory settings. Make sure that there is nothing under the water tank preventing it from seating all the way down. You can also try manually priming the machine. Click on the link below to see a short video on priming.
