Automatic Coffee Center
What sets the Primea Ring apart from most household super automatics is the machine’s ability to do more than just make espresso. Featuring 2 front spouts that can both dispense coffee and milk, the Primea Ring can froth and brew into 2 cups at the same time, giving you the possibility of making 2 drinks simultaneously—even lattes or cappuccinos. The Primea Ring’s click-wheel dial lets you scroll through 8 drink choices, so you can choose from hot milk, hot water, espresso, coffee, long coffee, espresso macchiato, cappuccino or latte macchiato.
Click-Wheel Controls
The Saeco Primea Ring offers a stylish control panel to compliment the sleek, contemporary looks of the machine and make brewing simple. The central dial has been designed with the latest technological innovations in mind, allowing you to scroll through the machine’s features as you would with an iPod. As you navigate, the display screen will show the different programming choices, and when you find the one you want, just press the coffee icon in the center of the dial. Using the simple design, you can customize drinks for just about any individual taste. Just select any of the buttons around the dial to access the menu, change coffee strength, adjust milk drinks, and select hot water. Then, just scroll with the click-wheel to make your selections within each program.
Beverage Programming
The Saeco Primea Ring is equipped with a Touch2Cappuccino System that allows you to make 2 cappuccinos or lattes at the same time. You can even double the amount of any beverage by pressing the coffee button in the center of the dial twice. To customize brewing, each of the Primea Ring’s 8 drink choices is fully programmable for your individual preferences. If you want to change the settings of a certain drink, simply press the menu button and use the click-wheel to select “beverage settings.” From this menu you have complete access to coffee and milk quantities for every drink, as well as strength settings, temperature and pre-infusion settings.
Coffee in the World
In addition to 8 standard drink options, the Saeco Primea Ring is equipped with a “Coffee in the World” menu that can be accessed through the “Special Functions” option in the menu. Thanks to the Primea’s extensive selection of international coffee recipes, you can experience flavors of the world without leaving your home. Choose from Italian espressos or ristrettos to taste the tradition of espresso, or try an authentic French/Swiss coffee to experience the flavors of a real French café. The “Coffee in the World” menu will even make you a morning coffee for a day full of energy or a goodnight latte macchiato that won’t keep you up.
Saeco Brewing System
The Primea Ring features Saeco’s innovative SBS dial on the center of the coffee spout that allows you to adjust coffee intensity at anytime. The dial can be adjusted for precise increments between mild, medium and strong, and you can change the intensity before or during the brewing process for an immediate effect on your coffee. Making changes to the dial will automatically adjust the Primea’s brewing cycle to strengthen or weaken the flavor of your coffee.
Rapid Steam®
Fully automatic cappuccinos and lattes are made possible by Saeco’s powerful stainless steel boiler system, which can switch back and forth between brewing espresso and frothing and steaming without delay. Thanks to this Rapid Steam system, the Primea Ring can froth milk and brew espresso seamlessly, so you can have any drink you want without excessive wait time.
Touch Lift Drip Tray
The Primea Ring is loaded with features, including an innovative motorized drip tray. The Primea uses Touch Lift Technology to move the drip tray. Lightly press the button on the bottom or top of the drip tray to activate the motor, and the drip tray will move up or down accordingly. Just release the button when you’ve reached your desired height. The drip tray can be adjusted to fit just about any cup size, from standard espresso cups to tall milk glasses. In addition, the motorized drip tray is removable and hand washable, so you can easily slide it off of the machine to empty and clean it.
Bypass Doser
Another great feature found on the Primea Ring is a bypass doser so you can also use your favorite preground coffee. Whether you’re entertaining guests who want to try something different or you just need a quick cup of decaf, the Primea Ring lets you brew preground coffee anytime you want it. Just move your finger along the click-wheel to select your beverage of choice, and then use the coffee strength (aroma) button until the display screen reads “pre-ground.” Fill the included coffee scoop with preground coffee and pour it into the bypass doser, place your cup under the spout as you normally would and press the coffee button in the center of the dial.
Low-Noise Ceramic Disc Grinder
For the most efficient grind, and to keep noise levels to a minimum, the Primea Ring features high-grade ceramic grinding discs. Ceramic discs provide faster grind with less heat than that of metal burr plates, so you can always get a reliable grind. Powered by a low-noise motor with automatic shut-off, the built-in grinder can accommodate high levels of use without wearing out.
Adjustable Cup Warmer
Another unique feature found on the Primea line of super automatics is the adjustable warming plate on top of the machine. With space to hold up to 6 espresso cups, and dedicated heat controls to allow you to turn it on or off, this cup warmer is much more than just a storage rack. The cup warmer will maintain its heat independently, even when the machine is in Energy Saver mode if you wish, so your cups will always be properly heated and ready for your espresso. You can turn the cup warmer on or off by accessing the “cup warmer” function in the menu.

Automatic Milk Frothing and Steaming
The Primea Ring delivers frothed or steamed milk automatically from both of the dispensing spouts, allowing you to create 2 drinks at the same time. The control panel features a button specifically for milk drinks, so you can adjust lattes and cappuccinos to your liking. You can even use the milk button to dispense hot milk by itself. The Primea Ring allows you to program each milk drink as you would coffee drinks, giving you virtually unlimited milk and coffee combinations to choose from.
Built-In Milk Container
Thanks to an internal milk container, the Primea Ring doesn’t have to be connected to an unsightly milk pitcher and hose on you countertop. The built-in milk container holds 12.5 oz of milk- enough to make up to 4 cappuccinos without refilling. The milk container is located above the water reservoir and easily slides out of the machine for daily refrigeration and cleaning. Simply remove the milk container after each use and put it in the fridge, or rinse it out if it’s empty. For added convenience, the Saeco Primea Ring includes an additional milk container so you can always keep 1 ready in the fridge, or use 1 for cleaning.
Hot Water Dispenser
The Primea Ring features a low-profile hot water spout, located behind the coffee spout, to dispense hot water for tea or hot chocolate. The hot water spout has a pivoting design and can dispense a preset amount of hot water by pressing the hot water button on the bottom right of the control panel. Like all of the Primea Ring’s preset drink choices, you can program the water temperature and volume for the hot water button to create your own customized hot drinks.

Removable Water Reservoir
The Saeco Primea Ring features a 68 oz water reservoir that slides out for convenient refilling and easy cleaning. The removable reservoir is located just below the milk container on the left side of the machine, and has a graphite-colored plastic exterior to match the machine’s panels.
Aqua Prima Water Filter
For the best tasting espresso possible, the Saeco Primea Ring comes with an Aqua Prima water filter to reduce mineral deposits in your machine’s water system. The included filter improves water quality and protects the Primea Ring’s brewing components from limescale build-up while, so you taste the rich, complex flavors of your espresso without the impurities.
Energy Saver and Automatic On/Off
You can program the Primea Ring for just about anything, including when to save power, and when to turn on or off. The Primea Ring is pre-programmed to go into energy saving mode after 3 hours of being idle, but you can adjust this by entering the “stand-by setting” in the menu. Using the “stand-by setting” you can also adjust the automatic timer so that your machine will turn on and off at preferred times. Just use the click-wheel to cycle through the hours and minutes to set the on/off times.
Cleaning Cycles
The best way to ensure that your espresso continues to taste great is to keep the Primea Ring’s milk and coffee system clean. The Primea Ring’s cleaning cycles are automated, and can be accessed by pressing the menu button and entering the “maintenance” sub-menu in “machine settings.” The most common cycle you will need to run is the milk rinse cycle, which ensures your milk hoses remain free from build up and your cappuccinos and lattes continue to taste fresh. After making a milk drink, the Primea Ring will allow you to continue using the machine without performing the “milk rinsing cycle” for about 20 minutes, after which point the machine cannot be used until you perform a milk rinsing cycle. Since the rinsing cycle is designed to pull water through the milk hose, you must clean out the milk container and fill it with fresh water or use the additional milk container as a clean water reservoir. To run the cycle, place a large container under the coffee spouts, and select “yes” in the “milk circ. rinse cycle” sub-menu. The Primea Ring will go through the rinse cycle automatically.
Easy Cleaning
After 2-3 weeks of use, the Primea Ring will prompt you to run a “milk circuit washing,” which requires that you use the included cleaning detergent and pin to give the milk system a more thorough cleaning. The milk wash cycle is run much like the milk rinse cycle, but the use of the detergent will remove old milk residue in your machine. The cleaning pin should be used to clean out buildup in the entrance path of the milk container tube. Following your cleaning guide will ensure that your milk system is as clean as possible, so you won’t have to worry about clogging or sanitation issues. You will also need to descale your machine about every 3 months, and the Primea Ring will alert you when it’s time. Simply follow the prompts on the machine’s display screen along with your product manual and your Primea Ring will continue to deliver great-tasting espresso drinks for years to come.
Wheel Base
An added feature on the Saeco Primea Ring is its unique wheel base. Most home espresso machines must be lifted to move around, but with the Primea Ring you can easily wheel the machine to any location across your countertop.
Accessories
The Primea Ring comes with an assortment of accessories and cleaning tools to help you get started and to keep your machine running smoothly down the road. Along with a user manual, the Primea Ring also includes an Aqua Prima water filter, an additional milk container, coffee scoop, milk container cleaning pin, applicator, water hardness tester, lubricant for the brew group, cleaning detergent and a cleaning brush.
