The design of the Phillips Saeco Exprelia is modeled on extensive interviews with Italian baristas who shared the essential secrets to perfect espresso: At least 7 grams of high quality coffee beans. Accurate grinding; not too coarse, to permit best moistening, nut not too fine, and with a grinder that doesn’t overheat the grind. Consistent pressing of the ground coffee, to enable careful extraction at 15 bars pressure of all the aromas with the perfect brewing flow. And at the finish, a smooth hazelnut-brown créma, to protect the aromas and let them burst forth at first sip.

Did the Exprelia design team meet the expectations of the barista interviews? Yes! And then they wrapped that capability in an elegant stainless steel skin, added double boilers, state-of-the-art automatic controls, and produced the fully automatic Exprelia. Fantastic!

The Exprelia fulfills the desires of Italian coffee lovers. The integrated automatic milk function creates the perfect milk foam for a Cappuccino and thanks to the patented Saeco Brewing System (SBS), coffee lovers can change the flavor and intensity of every cup according to their personal preferences – from mild to strong. With the large LCD screen and seven control buttons that line the sides of the display, the Exprelia has a clear interactive presence for ease of use and rapid customization.

SBS - adjustable créma and body structure

The Saeco brewing system is a unique feature that allows you to adjust the flow speed of the coffee delivery thereby influencing the richness and body structure of the créma.

Adjustable ceramic grinder

The ceramic grinder guarantees consistently accurate grinding for every kind of coffee bean. It never overheats the coffee and offers supreme longevity. It creates a grind to make that Italian taste experience possible just as a professional barista would provide.

Saeco adapting system

A good barista gets the most out of every single bean. So does the Saeco Exprelia – thanks to the Saeco adapting system. It automatically optimizes the grinding process to continuously guarantee the perfect unfolding of the aroma, regardless of the type of coffee bean used.

The Saeco aroma system pre-wets your coffee grinds to ensure the best possible coffee extraction. This feature, also known as pre-infusion, can be turned off or on, or lengthened to suit your taste.

Dual stainless steel boilers

Frothing and Hot Milk

Intelligent adjustable milk froth function

Simply select the level of froth you would like from the menu. From basic hot milk to creamy, silky froth.

Removable milk frothing carafe

The external milk container connects to Exprelia and automatically froths milk into your cup. The top portion of the handle swivels to the left to dispense steamed milk directly into your cup during the brew cycle. All you have to do is fill the carafe with milk and select your favorite milk specialty. Your cappuccino, latte macchiato, or caffé latte are delicious every time.

Integrated automatic and self-cleaning milk function

Pure milk is essential for the preparation of café-fresh froth enjoyment. That’s why automatic steam cycles clean the milk circuit after every frothing session.

Lighted color-coded user interface

Enjoy direct and clear interaction with the Exprelia thanks to the self-explanatory lighted icons display. For intuitive understanding the icons are color-coded according to the traffic light principle.

6 unique user profiles for 9 beverages

Knowing that every espresso aficionado has their own personal taste, the Exprelia design team created a programmable interface with up to 9 coffee specialties that can be personalized and stored in memory for up to 6 different users. It allows you to program the quantity of coffee to grind, coffee temperature, size of your drink and quantity of milk or water. That means every family member gets their own favorite customized specialty with just one touch!

Frontal access to removable brewing group

The removable brewing group – a Saeco invention – is the real heart of every fully automatic coffee machine and needs to work optimally every time. Keeping it clean is essential to great brewing. To clean the Exprelia brewgroup and keep it in tip top condition: remove it, rinse, and re-insert – simple!

Automatic cleaning and de-scaling

Thanks to the Saeco Exprelia automatic cleaning and descaling cycles, you are guaranteed that your machine will produce your favorite beverages day after day. Automatic cleaning and descaling further increases the life expectancy of your machine and lowers your overall cost of ownership.
