Features

If you’re looking to enjoy Saeco’s cutting-edge super automatic technology at a lower price, the Saeco Talea Giro is the perfect match. With sleek silver and graphite housing like its cousins in the Primea line, the Talea Giro is a wonderful addition to your attractive and advanced kitchen appliances. In addition to its modern look, the Talea Giro features a wide range of programming features to make brewing simple and fast. The Giro gives you complete control over your espresso, letting you customize your grind setting, liquid volume, pre-infusion, and coffee strength with the turn of a dial or a press of a button. Plus, the Talea Giro features a Rapid Steam system, meaning you never have to wait between brewing and steaming.

When it comes to making cappuccinos and lattes, the Talea Giro has a stainless steel steam wand that will let you steam and froth with ease. It also comes with a Pannarello attachment that will perfectly distribute steam in your pitcher for ideal froth. The Talea Giro is also compatible with the Saeco Milk Island, an automatic frothing device that connects to the machine.

Features & Benefits: Coffee

Automatic Coffee Center

The Saeco Talea Giro has everything you need to make almost any drink you can find at your local coffee house, and the machine’s straightforward controls make creating the drink of your dreams a simple process. Whether you chose to get the automatic Milk Island or stick with the manual steam wand, you’ll have the capability to make cappuccinos, lattes, straight espresso shots, macchiatos, and more.

Easy-to-Use Controls

The controls on the Saeco Talea Giro make programming, brewing, and cleaning easy. The brew button is the main button at the center of the control panel, and it has an icon of a coffee cup. Below this, with 3 coffee beans pictured, is the aroma (coffee dosing) button, and the silver knob around these center buttons controls liquid volume. To the right of the knob is the hot water button, and to the left of the knob are the alert lights. These alert lights keep you updated when the machine is warming up, your grounds drawer needs to be emptied, hopper or water reservoir refilled, or if descaling needs to be done.

Simple Brewing Controls

The control panel on the front of the machine makes programming all aspects of your espresso brewing a breeze. Start by setting the size of your coffee using the coffee volume adjustment knob by turning it all the way to the left for a single shot, all the way to the right for a long coffee, and anywhere in-between. Next, choose the size of the coffee dose using the aroma button that features 3 coffee bean icons. Press once for a mild aroma, twice for medium aroma, and 3 times for strong—the machine will automatically adjust the amount of coffee dosed to match your settings. Then, press the brew button once for 1 coffee, or twice for 2 coffees.

Saeco Brewing System

Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to espresso, so accommodating your tastes and the tastes of your guests can be a challenge with some machines. However, Saeco had entertaining in mind when they designed the Talea Giro. To change the strength of your coffee at any time during the brewing process, the Talea Giro features the Saeco Brewing System. Controlled by a dial right above the coffee dispensing spout, the SBS can be set anywhere from mild to strong.

Stainless Steel Boiler with Rapid Steam

To keep up with busy dinner parties, hectic mornings, or just when you need a cappuccino ASAP, the Saeco Talea Giro has a fast-heating stainless steel boiler and a Rapid Steam system. This lets you go right from brewing to steaming with no waiting in-between, so delicious milk drinks are only a few moments away.

Adjustable Height Drip Tray

To accommodate cups of all sizes—from small espresso shot glasses to tall latte mugs—the Saeco Talea Giro has a manual adjustable drip tray that moves with ease. The drip tray is also removable, making clean-up a snap.

Low-Noise Ceramic Burr Grinder

For fine, consistent grinding without the racket, the Saeco Talea Giro has a low-noise ceramic burr grinder. Durable, flat ceramic burrs create an even grind for a great espresso extraction. Plus, Saeco has put a safety feature in place that will automatically stop the grinder when you run out of beans, ensuring no damage will be done to the burrs. You can also choose your fineness setting to fine, medium, or coarse by turning a knob in the bean hopper.

Features & Benefits: Frothing and Hot Water

Steam Wand with Pannarello Attachment

For total control over steaming and frothing your milk, the Saeco Talea Giro has a stainless steel steam wand with a Pannarello attachment. This attachment dispenses steam in 3 directions, giving you the ideal, creamy frothed milk for cappuccinos and steamed milk for lattes. Steam output is controlled by a knob on the top of the machine that operates with a simple turn.

The Saeco Talea Giro is also compatible with the Saeco Milk Island. The Milk Island can be purchased separately to automatically froth milk for cappuccinos and lattes.

Hot Water

The steam wand on the Saeco Talea Giro also doubles as a hot water dispenser. To dispense water for americanos, hot cocoa, or tea, simply press the hot water button on the right side of the control panel, wait for the temperature light to turn on, and then turn the steam knob to the water icon. Turn the knob back once the desired amount of hot water has been dispensed.

Features & Benefits: Care, Maintenance & Other

Aqua Prima Water Filter

Even if you’re using the best espresso beans in the world, the taste of your espresso can only be as good as your water. The Saeco Talea Giro comes with an Aqua Prima water filter to ensure only the best water goes into your espresso shots, removing particles and unpleasant chemicals from your water. This filter also helps to prevent scale build-up in your machine and should be replaced every 3 months or so, depending on the volume of use.

Removable Water Reservoir

To make refilling and cleaning a simple process, the Talea Giro comes with a removable 57 oz water reservoir. This reservoir slides seamlessly into the side of the machine and its large size gives you plenty of time between refills.

Simple Cleaning

It’s easy to keep the Saeco Talea Giro in tip-top shape. After you turn it on and it reaches brewing temperature, it will automatically run a rinse cycle to clean away any coffee residue and to warm up the brewing components. The steam wand should be cleaned with a damp cloth after every use, and the Pannarello attachment should be unscrewed and cleaned at the end of the day. Descaling should be completed once every 2-3 months, and the descaling light on the control panel will illuminate to remind you.

Removable Dump Box and Brew Group

To make cleaning even easier, the dump box and brew group on the Saeco Talea Giro are removable. Both can be accessed by opening a panel on the right side of the machine, and no screwdrivers or other tools are needed. Periodically remove the brew group to be rinsed under the sink, and remove and clean the dump box whenever the dump box light on the control panel is illuminated.

Wheel Base

The Saeco Talea Giro comes with a convenient wheel base, allowing you to move it across your countertop without having to lift it.

Accessories

The Saeco Talea Giro comes with an Aqua Prima water filter, a detailed user’s manual, cleaning brush, and grinder adjustment key.

Warranty

All NEW Saeco machines include a one year Saeco Manufacturer's Warranty. Call Saeco at 1-800-933-7876.

If you would like to know a little about the many types of espresso machines we sell, this would be a good video to get you started. This video covers the machines we sell and based on your lifestyle, what you like to drink, and ease of use. It will give you an overview of different espresso machines and help you determine which one best suits to your needs.

I would watch the video and focus on a particular kind of machine—prosumer, semi-automatic, and super-automatic to decide which kind is ideal for you. Then, you can go and look at individual models to get a better idea of exactly what you want. Of course, if you narrow it down to a few espresso machines and are still undecided, give us a call and we would be glad to help!

Want hot coffee? Not for you.

DON'T BUY IF YOU WANT HOT COFFEE/ESPRESSO. Mid-range product review: 500-1000.000 Misled by the rep on WholeLatte, I believed that the Saeco would be a better and longer lasting machine than my Gaggia (RIP: 1989-1998) and Solis (1998-2008) machines. I got rid of the non-automatic Gaggia in favor of the automatic Solis Master; eventually, of course, after at least 6 cups a-day and more on weekends, our Solis died. We had the boiler replaced at about year 6; but it was a $50.00 repair and it lasted a few more years. Took possession of the Saeco two days before Thanksgiving; and as much as I'd like ot be "grateful" for our blessings, this machine isn't it. It is extremely sensitive: three cups through? Well then, you must dump the pods or add more water .... (we do three cups easily, with husband, wife, daughter in the household each morning...this means that after we've each had only ONE coffee, the system must be restarted.) And, in spite of the 27 purported strenght/bean combinations, at it's best it's not as refined as the 6- combo Solis. Hot coffee? Not so much. We like our coffee black and hot, whether 1 ounce or 6 ounces (for the Thermos to work) - and as long as we let the Saeco "boil" we still can't get HOT coffee out of the spouts.

How Long Have I Been Using This Product?

Less than 1 month

What's Best About this Product?

Quieter...but who cares if the coffee isn't decent? WholeLatte must have some kind of kick-back to recommend this product, when I was wanting to order a mere replacement for my previous love - the Solis Master 5000. WholeLatte said that the Saeco was a better machine. I beg to differ if you count coffee temperature as an important factor.

Coffee Lover

The Coffee I've Tried With This Product:

Some Improvements I Would Recommend for This Product:

Foolish buy. Buy the Solis Master 5000. Cheaper, better coffee. Louder, of course. but worth it.

Saeco Machines - WARNING

Don't buy a Saeco. I bought a Saeco V-Spresso machine over a year ago with a 1 year extended warranty. The first machine came damaged in a factory-sealed box. There were screws missing and part of the outside plastic frame was damaged. Obviously, the factory guys put it in the box that way. I received a new one from Amazon. 3 months later, it has a leak. I sent it to Saeco for repair. When I received it back, it was scratched and a piece was broken. Saeco sent me a new machine for my troubles. 1 year later, another leak. I used my extended warranty and set it to a repair shop. According to that company, they have 4 other machines like mine waiting to be repaired. Saeco has a part on back order. So, let's see, a common problem and back-ordered parts. By the way, my machine and the other ones have been sitting on a shelf for 3 months now.

great machine

Had the Jura E9 and never got it to froth very well. Have had the Talea Giro for a month and love it.

How Long Have I Been Using This Product?

Less than 1 month

What's Best About this Product?

Uber simple to use, very fast heat up, no wait between froth and brew, froths excellent in a stainless pitcher. Not so well in a ceramic mug. much quieter than the Jura machine. Easy access to all components. Steam wand very simple to clean. Seems to use lots of water and the tank needs to be filled frequently, but the rollers on the bottom of the unit make this quite easy to access the tank.

Some Helpful Tips For Using this Product:

buy one, it's excellent !

Some Improvements I Would Recommend for This Product:

Takes a while to learn the error icons. Most of the time the error light is just a red exclamation point and this could mean any number of things could be wrong. After a few days you know what to check and the error clears.

Just tried this new machine today and it is crazy how easy it is to use. I think a monkey could froth like a pro using the milk island. I was hesitant in hooking it up and now that I did it is simply amazing. This machine takes all of the guess work out of making late's or any other drink. Really effortless.

Hi,
The machine keeps asking to empty the drip tray repeatedly even though it is empty. I followed the suggestions posted but that didn't resolve the issue. Maybe I should test the micro switch now. Can you guide please?
I don't know if this is significant or not, but it all started after I was away for a week and the machine was turned off during that time. When I came back and turned it on it gave that message and keeps giving it even after emptying the dump box & tray repeatedly. After emptying it sometimes shows the message straight away. At other times I can brew one cup before the message shows up again.
Thank you.

mjackson ♦ Hansel,

Try unplugging for fifteen minutes. Then see if that helps. If not give our technical department a call.

The pucks are not coming out firm, they are runny and 'soupy'. There also seems to be allot of water in the drip tray for not many cups of coffee, I have tried adjusting the grind from one extreme to the other and no effect (not much adjustment either, comparred to other Saeco machines I've tried).

mjackson ♦ Rex,

When you adjust it takes about three shots for the machine to start brewing what you just adjusted. Set the grinder on the finest setting. Also make sure you are dispensing the coffee at the strongest setting. Also if you are using a dark oily bean you can switch to a lite to medium espresso blend that will be easier for your machine to work at its optimum performance level. Call or email if you need any more help,

TechMilanoItalia Joe, this machine does not have the option to use pre-ground coffee. It uses whole bean coffee only.

During the warm-up cycle, my machine suddenly goes silent, then there's a loud bang! The red exclamation point flashes. I've examined/lubricated and can manually manipulate the brew group components without difficulty.

ToddS Hi Steve, on start up the machine first heats the boiler then it runs the brew group and does a rinse cycle. The bang is probably coming during the spot in the cycle that runs the brew group. Since you said that the brew group can be manually manipulated just fine the problem is probably with the internal gear box. This is not something that can not be fixed at home. Give a call to set up and discuss options. If you think I missed something post a follow up question to let me know and we can continue this discussion.

Hi
I've had my taleo giro 3 years now and had no problems with it, using it every day.
I'm now finding that the coffee is entering the drip tray as a mush of wet coffee grounds, instead of the 'puck' that it should be.
Also, I'm getting the 'empty now' warning very regularly, I've tried removing the drip tray for a minute while the machine is on, to no avail.
Please help!

TechMilanoItalia Mike, try adjusting the grind setting to a larger dot in the bean hopper up top. Also, using drier (non-oily) beans or setting it to a lower "aroma" setting will help. The warning to empty the drip tray is likely popping up due to the excess water running into the drip tray.
