Features

Te Tea White Silk Earl Grey is a blend of the finest whole leaf white tea and natural oil of bergamot, it is smooth and full-bodied, with a pleasant citrus taste. A perfect morning or afternoon tea. To capture the high quality taste of loose tea without the mess of infusers or tea balls, Té Tea has created a line of bags that allow for the best extraction from their whole leaf teas. Their nylon tea sachets provide plenty of room for the tea to unfurl and allow extraction of the most flavor. The attractive gift box contains 12 individually-wrapped and sealed sachets.

About white tea:
White tea is a lightly oxidized tea historically grown and harvested primarily in in the Fujian province of China and more recently in both Taiwan and Northern Thailand.

White tea comes from the buds and leaves of the Chinese Camellia sinensis plant. The leaves and buds are allowed to wither in natural sunlight before they are lightly processed to prevent oxidation or further tea processing.

The name "white tea" derives from the fine silvery-white hairs on the unopened buds of the tea plant, which gives the plant a whitish appearance. The beverage itself is not white or colourless but pale yellow.

About oil of bergamot:
Citrus bergamia, the Bergamot orange, is a fragrant fruit the size of an orange, with a yellow colour similar to a lemon. It is a native hybrid of Calabria, southern Italy, where more than 80% are found.

An essence extracted from the aromatic skin of this sour fruit is used to flavour Earl Grey and Lady Grey teas, and confectionery. It is often used to make marmalade, particularly in Italy. In Sweden and Norway, bergamot is a very common flavorant in snus, a smokeless tobacco product.
