I own both machines (my Saeco is the black, not the stainless, but there is no mechanical difference between them). Please check my review regarding the Rancilio Rocky for greater detail; but in short, the Rocky is so precise that you get coffee house quality shots (from good beans, of course) with the Aroma. I got the Rocky just recently, but have used the Aroma for almost four years. As very good as preground espresso beans were, the Rocky made the Aroma's output great.

Fifty precise grind settings (Rancilio). Ease of use (both machines).
I removed the metal rack below the shoot on the Rocky, for use with the Saeco portafilter. There is a self-tamping mechanism, but I still tamp a bit.

Local roasted espresso beans (Millcreek Coffee; Salt Lake City). MmmmmMMmm Good! (But for a nice smoky Americano, try pre-ground Cafe Bustello).
Wider "swing out" of the steam rod on the Saeco.
Michael Rosso ♦ Pamela I am glad you are enjoying your grinder. TheRancilio Rocky grinders are truly a great grinders. They use the same motor and burrs as the larger MD 40 grinder. Enjoy
