Many of the Jura and Capresso espresso machines come with a two-position steam wand, which is placed in the down position for frothing and in the up position for steaming.
If your capability to froth suddenly ceases, try this quick and easy fix.
Begin by simply unscrewing the steam tip. Note that the threads have the same direction as a screw, so turn it to the right to tighten or to the left to loosen it. If it does not come out easily you can use a penny or screwdriver in the slotted tip to loosen it.
Once the steam tip is removed find the groove cut into the side of it. There is a hole at the top of the groove and one at the bottom of the groove. The one at the top has a tendency to get plugged up with milk. Clean both of these holes and put everything back together and the problem should be solved.
It is always good to run a little steam through the wand and wipe it down after each use as this will help prevent future clogs.
