As a coffee enthusiast, I'm already indebted to cows for all of the milk I put in my coffee, yet, as an American I'm also indebted to them for another reason... BEEF! In the summer, there are few things I like better than slapping some burgers on the grill and having myself a cookout. Now, what if I told you that you can combine your love of beef and coffee into one delicious and mouthwatering creation? Well you can. The name of the game is Coffee Burgers.
Before I take too much credit for this blog however, I must point out that this recipe was posted already in a blog by our very own Tracy Schafer. I've been asked to bring this recipe back to your attention to get you pumped for our Summer Brew-BQ recipe contest that starts today!
Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1 heaping tablespoon of dark roasted ground coffee
- 2 heaping tablespoons of breadcrumbs
- A dash of seasoned salt
- A dash of pepper
- A dash of oregano
- Bacon
- Cheddar or American Cheese
- Potato Hamburger Buns or Kaiser Roll
- And any other toppings that you like – lettuce, tomatoes, etc
Method
Mix the coffee, breadcrumbs, seasoned salt, pepper and oregano into a large bowl.
Split the meat into four equal pieces and coat them into the coffee/breadcrumb mix.
Roll them into a ball, then flatten about ½ inch thick.
