Brewing By: Fetco FAQ's

When I put freshly roasted beans in my filter, the coffee they produce foams. What should I do?

When very freshly roasted, beans which are then ground and brewed may outgas on contact with hot brew water, resulting in foaming. Fetco coffee brewing machines come with a "pre wetting" feature to pre wet the coffee bed prior to brewing. Or, grind these beans and wait to brew. This requires experimentation and taste testing to find the optimal time. If you need further assistance, call FETCO at 800-FETCO-99 (800-338-2699) or 847-719-3000.

Suitable Environment
With an 11 batch-per-hour production level for each brewing station, Fetco’s 5000 Series is a unique blend of style and performance. The 5000 Series utilizes Fetco’s Luxus line of thermal servers, which are completely portable and require no electricity, so you can place them in any location.

Operation
The 5000 Series features a convenient brewing lever and a series of easy-to-read indicator lights to make brewing a snap, but operating the programmable features requires a bit more training. Adjusting components such as the brewing thermostat, the brewing timer and the bypass valve require that users remove the top cover for access. To make adjustments, it is highly recommended that users consult the product manual for step-by-step instructions. Aside from programming, the 5000 Series can be operated by most employees with limited training.
