The Macap CPS Professional Dynamometric tamper achieves this by applying a level 55 lbs of pressure on the coffee grounds in the portafilter. Since it’s not hand held, it achieves the same pressure no matter who is using it. Simply place your portafilter below the tamper, and pull down on the lever, then release. Tamp each dose of coffee only once. Since the Macap Dynamometric tamper weighs in at 8.4 lbs and stands nearly 16 inches tall, it’s safe to say that there’s simply no other product like it.
