Does the 12 oz. hold 12 oz. max or can froth 12 oz in it easily?

Tracys ♦ The 12oz is the total capacity. Depending on your espresso machine and steam wand clearance you may want to consider the 20oz which can easily accommodate 12oz of frothed milk. You can expect the milk to expand when frothing and a larger steaming pitcher will be easier to use for multiple drinks.
John Seymour Looks to be a good deal either way.
New = new unit - 1 year warranty (extra year while on sale)

I am interested in the Gaggia Accademia. I like Latte's and want to make them at home, and my husband likes regular american coffee. Will we will be able to make both easily?

A A Rebecca, That is the joy of the Accademia. You can program 7 different buttons to prepare drinks how you would like. Your husband might be interested in the "Lungo" coffee button, while you will enjoy the Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato and Latte buttons. All of those can be prepared with just a single button press. There is no need to even move the cup from the milk dispenser to the brewing spouts, it's completely automatic! I hope this helps!
Hello WLL, I'm considering the Gaggia Accademia, Saeco Royal Auto One Touch and the Saeco Xelsis Digital. How doe these compare? Is the Accademai and the Digital the SAME machine except for the fingerprint programming. A little concerned about frothed milk temperatue, we like it hot in my home. Last question is Saeco and Gaggia owned by Phillips? I see both machines on the same Phillips support page and the look alike (Digital

mjackson ♦ Kurt,
Yes Gaggia and Saeco are both owned by Phillips European and the machines are very similar. I really like the Gaggia and that is supported by us and we do a great job. I also like the price a lot. The milk does come out warm. It can be hotter if the milk when you start is not really cold. Or you also have the option of using a great steam wand. I really like the Accademia a lot. If you want a great drink get the Accademia.
Sanfam ♦ To give you a better idea of its performance, you should expect to see a temperature increase of 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit in the frothed milk when compared against its source. This means that refrigerated milk will typically produce froth coming in at 110-120F, while room temperature (preferably something like the ultrapasteurized boxed style) milk will produce frothed milk ringing in at 140-150F.
We have had our Platinum Vision for about 6 months and it's worked perfectly. This morning I rinsed out the drip tray and rinsed the brew group thoroughly (did not use any detergent to clean). Now the machine will not brew - it grinds the beans and when it tries to dispense the espresso, it discards it and gives me the message "Prime Water Circuit". I have run a full tank of water through the steam knob and still gives me this massage. Any easy tips here or should I contact the repair center?

Sanfam ♦ A quick and simple troubleshooting step you could take is to spin the E-Plus knob between its left and right full-stops a few times, then leave it as the left stop. When the machine powers on, you can try switching it to pre-ground mode and brewing a shot without putting any grounds into the bypass doser. If you can brew a "blank shot" like this, then try again with ground coffee and you should be all set. If not, I'd suggest giving our Technical Support department a call at 888-411-5282, Option 3.
Triana Hinchey Thanks Sanfam - that did the trick!
What steam wand comes with gaggia classic is it pannarello wand? Whats the difference between the pannarrello and pannarello latte art wand?

A A Chris,
The Gaggia Classic comes with a Pannarello wand. It's design is to insert air into the milk to froth without the need to spin the milk. The Latte Art Wand is a hybrid, in the sense that with the outer part on, it works as a Pannarello wand. When you take the cover off though, the inner wand will act as a single whole tip, allowing you more control, and the ability to froth milk as you would with a standard steam wand. It's a really handy wand! I have it on my Classic at home, and love using it. Hope this help!
I'm not fond of the turbo Pannarello frothing wand. It makes too much foam for my tastes. Will another type of sleeve fit on the Brera? I used to have a Saeco Incanto Deluxe and really like the wand/sleeve on it. Seemed more "solid." I closed off the little hole on the sleeve and was able to froth exactly how I liked. Will that sleeve fit on the Brera? (Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore.) Are there other options? Otherwise, I'm liking my Brera. Thanx!

A A Charles,
The wand from the Incanto will fit the Brera, yes. There is also the Gaggia Latte Art Pannarello wand that will fit as well. With the outer cover on it will act like a normal Pannarello, but when you take it off, it acts as a commercial style single hole tip. I have included a link below:

Hello!
We have pressuirized double shot filter, but we don't know how to clean it.
Unfortunately all written instructions in Russia are about Commercial filters, although pressuirized are also sold. So we can't find information how to clean it. Local sellers also can't answer us.
We mean everyday cleaning. While it is double shot and has two bottoms, there is a chance for mold to start there of simply grime. According to our law we have one week for testing goods and returning it back (in fact, two weeks, but one has already passed) if we are not satisfied with it. We would have to take commercial or simgle shot filter then because we can't clean our filter properly, unfortunately, though we like double shot the best! It would be sad.

Tracys ♦ Here is a video that shows how to clean the filter baskets and portifilter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVVGT3LuRSg&list=PL482C8005EBFCDEAF&index=8
Irina Frank thank you, but we have already seen this video. The question was about _everyday_ cleaning and care. Maybe it is necessary to wash filter with hot boiled water of something like that to prevent it's molding etc. I don't like the idea of washing it sometimes, not after every use (like we wash dishes after every meal, not only when it is already dark).
HOw do you descale the unit? Does the descaling solution go in the water and get filled with water? And then which is the hot water function?

Tracys ♦ You need to do it manually. You need to put solution in the tank, add water . Then run the solution out the steam wand using the hot water function. Start it then let it sit for about ten minutes, then continue running hot water out of steam wand. When done with that then run clean water out about half a tank to rinse it all out then you are finished.

mjackson ♦ dAVID,
It is the same one and it is made of glass. It is a great tool to have as it lets you see exactly how much you are brewing as it is marked in 1/2 ounce increments. I recommend this product all the time.
