I got this grinder with my Rancilio Silvia. Before purchase, I was a little concerned with some of the negative reviews, but after speaking with several people, and several sales-people, decided to try it. I have not been disappointed at all!

I really like this grinder. I it is fast, quite, and does not leave a lot of grinds in the chute. I really like the ability to macro/micro adjust, and have no problem dialing in the coffee I get. I have tried 5 different espresso blends since getting and all work fine. The portafilter holder...

Hi, I just received a Gaggia Classic for Christmas. Very excited, but the machine has exposed the shortcomings of my old Solis 166. So now I have a $300 budget for a grinder and I am willing to sacrifice (a little) grind quality in exchange for durability. Ideally, I'd like to use the new grinder for espresso, pour-over and even some French press, but I could use the Solis for the latter grinds. I've heard from some that the Preciso is ideal, but others have warned me about the questionable reliability and constant tinkering. What is your recommendation between the more variable Preciso and the MDF? Will the Preciso hold up? Or is the MDF's rock-solid reliability the winner?
Hi! I have a virtuoso preciso that was not grinding fine enough for espresso, I tried doing the internalmadjustment but it seems I moved the windows too much to the right and the two rings came appart. Imam following the instructions on how put back both rings but It seems I am doing something wrong since now I cannot move the ring with the windows. Can you help me giving me instructions on how to put the, back together.
I had to adjust the internal adjuster on the ring as suggested by the manufacturer. The Silvia was just pushing the shots out too fast. I used fresh coffee, good tamping etc. Once adjusted I am at 2 Macro and C on the micro. The Baratza website shows you how to make the internal adjustment. I bought this as a package but wonder if the Rocky might be a better fit for the Silvia. Grinder is fast and well built. Grind is very good once you get it dialed in
I just purchased the Virtuoso Preciso. I have Gaggia Classic. What grind setting would you recommend I begin with for this combination?

Can I use it in HK (220V AC )?
I request the height of the Baratza Virtuoso Preciso grinder
I am looking to buy a grinder for drip coffee with a Technivorm and espresso with a Solis SL70 (about 5 years old). I was considering the Baratza Virtuoso. However, I wanted to know what I would be getting by buying the Precisio beyond finer grind control. Is there a significant step up in build quality? $300 is a bit steep however I want to make sure I get the right grinder that will last me a few years.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Rick
Does this come with the portafilter holder?
mjackson ♦ Karen,
Thank you for one of the best written reviews I have read. I am glad you are happy. The great thing is also Baratza is very supportive with any problems people have had and we love working with them. I am happy that you made a good decision on the grinder.
