So, I was told by Maggie a few weeks ago that Cleancaf was a little too harsh on the Evo's aluminum boiler. However, it appears that you are either out of the Gaggia Descaler or you do not carry it any longer. What is the recommended descaler?
Also, it appears that the group group pressure valve may be malfunctioning as I now get a significant amount of water dripping from the group after water is sent thru and there is a LOT of steam set thru the group while steam is on. Is there a way to clean or fix this or do I need to replace the valve?
When a pull a shot I noticed that after the first ten second the color of the coffee coming out turn much lighter.
Can it be the temperature dropping down?
How can I adjust that?
I have a Gaggia Evo and am using Cleancaf to descale the system. I was working from home and decided to clean my machine between meetings. I got tied up and forgot about the machine for a few hours and left cleancaf in it during that time. I flushed the machine with 2 full clean water cycles and disassembled the basic group head compenents and cleaned them (like I normally do). Is leaving the descaler in the machine for that extended period of time going to harm it?
I have been using my gaggia classic for a while and I'd like to clean it.
What product should I use and how should I use it?
I have a problem but I don’t know if it's the grinder (Infinity) or the espresso machine (Gaggia evolution).
To be able to even get a shot (2oz) from my machine I need to set the grinder to the last course. ans this is with a tamping pressure of 30lbs.
I guess since some of you have the setting in no less than fine that the problem may be with my machine water flow through the group head and not the grinder.
I just ordered the decalcifier to clean it up and see if that helps.
I've read all the specs for both the Evolution and Pure....in your opinion is the Pure a more updated version of the Evolution and which would you recommend?
Help! I just bought this machine and have tried multiple grinds, but the espresso always comes spewing out! About half of the shot goes into the cup and the other half all over my counter. What am I doing wrong?
Subject: Gaggia Evolution problem, HELP!

Two issues with my Evolution:
1) First shot is always overextracted despite that I prime the machine and let it "heat up" well after the green light turns on (probably 6-7 minutes in total)
2) I bought the gaggia pressurized basket and so far the crema it produces is underwhelming and a normal basket seems to work better; is there a trick to get the pressurized basket to work well?
I purchased a Gaggia Evolution Xmas 2008 (i.e., about 3-1/2 years ago), and have loved it. However, a few months ago, the espresso started coming out much slower, and more recently water is flowing over the top of the portafilter while brewing espresso, making for watery coffee. I have descaled (many times, but it only makes the slightest difference), removed and cleaned the shower screen. Time to replace, or can it be fixed? Is this the life span of a Gaggia?
