Urnex Urn and Brewer Cleaner
We have a Rancilio Sylvia that isn't making froth when we make espresso. It also is still shooting coffee onto the walls as if there's too much pressure. I've called and was told not to leave it on so long, but the coffee just isn't good. We've had it two years and I'm wondering if it simply needs to be cleaned. What do I use to clean it?
Thank you.

DRuff Hello Mark.
Cleaning is always a good place to start when your machine starts acting abnormal. We recommend that you descale your machine every 3 months or so. Cleancaf by Urnex is a good product to use. If you haven’t descaled the machine for awhile then you may want to use a more potent cleaning agent such as Dezcal by Urnex. Dezcal can be used twice a year. If you have hard water then use Cleancaf a bit more often….up to once a month if you have extremely hard water. You may also want to use a water softener if you know your water is hard. There is a water softener specifically designed for the Silvia that can be found on the Rancilio brand page. This will help filter some of the mineral deposits in your water before they enter the machine. I hope this helps. Please contact us should you have any further questions. Happy Brewing!
