I began by putting a cleaning tablet in the by pass doser and when the cleaning light was off the water light, large cup light began to flash. There is a full tank of water in the reserve.

I tried shutting the machine off to reboot it but the lights continued to flash when the machine was turned back on.

mjackson ♦ Here are the instructions from Solis,I hope this helps. I am not sure how you got where you are and what you did. 1st Step:
Remove the Cappuccino nozzle! Place a large container under the hot water/steam nozzle. Fill
the water tank with Solipol diluted with water to a ratio of 1 : 1. (Refer to the instructions on the
descaling product label.)

2nd Step:
Start the descaling by pressing the “Clean” and “Powder” buttons together (the “Clean” and
“Powder” buttons, and the “Descale” LED then light up as an acknowledgement).

Then completely open the hot water / steam rotary knob. The pump starts and the descaling
program begins. During this phase, the pump runs at intervals and the “descale” LED flashes.
The descaling program takes about 45 minutes! During this phase the water tank must run empty!
Do not add any water!

When all 5 operating buttons and the “Descale” LED flash, close the hot water/steam rotary knob.

3rd Step:

Remove the water tank from the machine, rinse it out, fill it with fresh water and replace it in the
machine. Empty the container under the hot water/steam nozzle and replace it under the hot
water/steam nozzle.

Open the rotary knob and run the whole contents of the tank through the machine and out of the
hot water/steam nozzle. When the tank is empty, close the rotary knob. The “Descale” LED goes
off and the operating buttons stop flashing. The descaling is now finished. Refill the water tank
and expel air from the machine by opening the rotary knob (for about 10 seconds ). The
automatic Espresso machine is now ready for service again.

I lost my owner's manual. Where can I get another one? I do not know how to descale and clean the unit without the specific directions. What are those directions? Thank you in advance for your help.

Does the Solis Palazzo enter a power save mode after a period of inactivity? If not is it save to leave on all the time?

TechMilanoItalia No, that machine does not have an 'energy saving' mode. We would not recommend leaving the machine on all the time as it would accelerate wear on the machine and the heat-up time to full brew temp is only about 6 minutes.

Grinds fine but trips the EGI breaker when the water is supposed to come out.

ToddS Tom,it sounds like there is a small water leak inside the machine when the pump comes on or some kind of short in the electrical system. Either way, I'm sorry to say that it sounds like it has to come in for repair. Contact us at support@wholelattelove.com for assistance.

If the machine flashes both ventilation and heating up buttons and nothing is happenning, no matter what other buttons are being pressed. No water is coming out of the machine. And sometimes when it gets turned off, clean light comes on.

techkathy Renata, have you tried opening the steam knob and allowing water to flow from the steam wand? The heating up button will continue to flash because the machine is in a ventilate mode. This means that the machine thinks it may have an air pocket in it. It will not start heating up until the ventilate message is cleared. To clear the ventilate message, the small flow meter in the machine must be turned enough times to satisfy the machines control board. Once it has completed this purging of the potential air bubble, then the machine will return to the normal mode.

Does the Solis Palazzo have any temperature setting control??? Everything I see on this feature indicates "N/A". I am about ready to step up and purchase the Palazzo, but no temperature control would be a real letdown in terms of performance features.

Whole Latte Love Staff The Solis Palazzo does not offer an adjustable temperature control. It does seem to produce shots that are the appropriate consistency and temperature. For a machine that offers temperature control you may want to look into a digital machine.

Is there a way to get a proper double shot of espresso (2 oz. total) with just one push of the espresso button? Could you achieve this by increasing the dosage dial in the grinder to the maximum? (The marketing pics show two cups under the coffee dispenser, which I presume is giving you two ounces for one dosage of coffee). Thanks...

Whole Latte Love Staff The maximum dosage for the Solis Pallazo is 9 grams, which equals slightly more than a single shot.  You can press the shot button twice which will automatically produce two shots one after the other.  There is no way though to create the appropriate amount of coffee for a double shot with just one push of the espresso button.

We just picked up the machine this afternoon, and we are too wired to attempt any more samples today.

Question 1 - Do you have to shut the power switch off (at the back) every night, or will it auto-shut-off by itself? (Or is it ok to leave it on?)

Question 2 - When you want 2 cups, do you push the button twice immediatly, or do you wait for the first serving to finish, then push again?

0

Whole Latte Love Staff You should turn the machine off every night with the switch. For a double shot push the brew button twice in a row. It will then grind, tamp and brew the first shot. While it is brewing the first shot it will grind for the second shot and then brew it right away.

What is the main difference between the Solis Digital 5000 and the new Palazzo ?
Do I need a frothing attachment for either for acceptable results ?

Are they built the same ? Someone said the Palazo is "adapted Saeco Parts "
What does that mean ? Thanks, I just don't know which machine is best for us.

Whole Latte Love Staff The Palazzo is a large step up from the Master 5000 digital. The Palazzo has the rapid steam feature so that there is almost no wait time and no extra procedures to go through when changing between brewing and frothing. The Palazzo also has a bypass doser for using preground coffee in case you don’t want to use the beans that are in the hopper and you can also adjust how much coffee it will grind, from 6 to 9 grams per shot. You should not really need any kind of extra frothing adapters, the Pannarello wand that comes on it does a nice job. If you remove the outer sleeve (which is designed to inject air to make frothing easy) on the Pannarello you can use your own technique to texture your froth.
