Hi,
The machine keeps asking to empty the drip tray repeatedly even though it is empty. I followed the suggestions posted but that didn't resolve the issue. Maybe I should test the micro switch now. Can you guide please?
I don't know if this is significant or not, but it all started after I was away for a week and the machine was turned off during that time. When I came back and turned it on it gave that message and keeps giving it even after emptying the dump box & tray repeatedly. After emptying it sometimes shows the message straight away. At other times I can brew one cup before the message shows up again.
Thank you.

mjackson ♦ Hansel,

Try unplugging for fifteen minutes. Then see if that helps. If not give our technical department a call.

The pucks are not coming out firm, they are runny and 'soupy'. There also seems to be allot of water in the drip tray for not many cups of coffee, I have tried adjusting the grind from one extreme to the other and no effect (not much adjustment either, comparred to other Saeco machines I've tried).

mjackson ♦ Rex,

When you adjust it takes about three shots for the machine to start brewing what you just adjusted. Set the grinder on the finest setting. Also make sure you are dispensing the coffee at the strongest setting. Also if you are using a dark oily bean you can switch to a lite to medium espresso blend that will be easier for your machine to work at its optimum performance level. Call or email if you need any more help,

How do I use pre-ground coffee in this machine?

TechMilanoItalia Joe, this machine does not have the option to use pre-ground coffee. It uses whole bean coffee only.

During the warm-up cycle, my machine suddenly goes silent, then there's a loud bang! The red exclamation point flashes. I've examined/lubricated and can manually manipulate the brew group components without difficulty.

ToddS Hi Steve, on start up the machine first heats the boiler then it runs the brew group and does a rinse cycle. The bang is probably coming during the spot in the cycle that runs the brew group. Since you said that the brew group can be manually manipulated just fine the problem is probably with the internal gear box. This is not something that can not be fixed at home. Give a call to set up and discuss options. If you think I missed something post a follow up question to let me know and we can continue this discussion.

Hi
I've had my taleo giro 3 years now and had no problems with it, using it every day.
I'm now finding that the coffee is entering the drip tray as a mush of wet coffee grounds, instead of the 'puck' that it should be.
Also, I'm getting the 'empty now' warning very regularly, I've tried removing the drip tray for a minute while the machine is on, to no avail.
Please help!

TechMilanoItalia Mike, try adjusting the grind setting to a larger dot in the bean hopper up top. Also, using drier (non-oily) beans or setting it to a lower "aroma" setting will help. The warning to empty the drip tray is likely popping up due to the excess water running into the drip tray.
