I was wondering if it is possible to use regular ground espresso with this unit. Or if it is for pods only.
Thanks.

TechMilanoItalia This machine is for use with pods only.
Do you know the recovery time between shots? When I'm serving multiple people, this is a critical bench mark.

TechMilanoItalia Pat, the machine does have an auto-fill feature which will pull more water into the boiler after you pull the shot. You will have to wait for that water to get up to brew temperature which shouldn't be more than about 30 seconds. With any of those smaller-capacity boiler machines, though you will have some wait time. If you are looking to do more volume, you would want to consider a heat-exchanger boiler machine.
Is there any way I could use ground espresso, even though the group head and portafilter are designed for ESE pods?

TechMilanoItalia No, unfortunately you cannot. That is a pod-only machine.
Is there an attachment for the portafilter to brew using ground coffee instead of the pods?

Tracys ♦ Francis Francis! has created 2 models in the X1 series to satisfy the demands of today’s espresso lovers. The X1 for Ground is designed exclusively to brew using ground coffee, while the X1 Trio has been made specifically for use with ESE pods.
My francis francis x1 Trio has a crack in the boiler head (not sure this is what it is) but when you open the front of the machine the casing around is spraying water out and it is short circuiting. Can I get a replacement part or get it fixed?

ToddS Hi Sadie, I'm sorry to say that sounds like you will need a new boiler. I just hope that no damage was done to the electronics of the machine. The parts are in stock and the work can be completed quickly. Please contact the Customer Service folks and they can talk to you about pricing and assist with any questions that you have
TechMilanoItalia For a dedicated E.S.E. pod brewing machine, they don't get much better than this. '10'
