I only brew 15 ounces of coffee each morning. Will the Technivorm do a good job with this small amount of coffee? Is there an adjustment for smaller amounts? I grind with your Rancilio doserless grinder which is wonderful!

There is no pour spout on this carafe - does it reliably pour without spilling? I own the earlier model with a carafe that does have a spout. WOrks great. We now need another but am uncertain about the carafe.

We understand that there is no way to program this machine. Is there some other appliance we could get with it that allows us to program it?

I am not sure what you mean. If you mean to program it to turn on automatically you can buy a timer at any hardware store. If you mean a programmable coffee brewer we do sell many of them. Here is a link to coffee brewers we sell that are programmable.

Does the thermal carafe affect the taste of the coffee? Coffee makers I have had in the past with thermal carafes seem to impart a metallic taste.

Does this machine give off a lot of steam upwards? I'm concerned about the wood cabinets above where I would put it.
How much plastic contacts the hot water? How much plastic contacts the coffee? The carafe is stainless steel lined? Is there an additional coating of plastic between the stainless steel and the coffee?

The Technivorm is a very, very hot brewer. It does give off some steam, but I don't think it would be enough to damage the cupboards. The only plastic components that cone into contact with the water would be the lids of the water container, lid of the brewer, and the coffee filter holder. The Carafe is stainless steel lined in the inside. There is no additional plastic in the carafe. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi- I am a freak for the Technivorm coffee maker!
I have one at home and I purchased one for the winery where I work. I also purchased one for the owners of the winery. My problem is that one of the measuring spoons broke and we need a new one. Can you help?

We don't carry Technivorm replacement parts here, but you can contact Boyd Coffee. They are Technivorms US representative. Visit http://www.technivorm-us.com/ or call 1-800-545-4077. They should be able to get you a new scoop.
Is it true the machine does not turn off automatically after brewing? If so, isn't that a danger if heating unit is still on for a long period if we forget to turn it off?

TechMilanoItalia No, this machine does not have an auto-off feature. We would recommend turning it off after it brews (the thermo carafe will keep the coffee hot) or you can use an appliance timer to turn it on and off at set times.
Monday - Thursday: 9am-8pm
Friday: 9am-6pm
Saturday: 10am-3pm
Sunday: 12pm - 5pm
