I need to buy ground espresso in individually wrapped packages, for a friend who uses an inexpensive steamer, likes espresso but won't buy espresso coffee for it because he doesn't use it often enough and the half-pound or one-pound packages go stale. Will these ESE pods work in a steamer?

what if you want to pull a douple shot at . can you use two pods in the large basket? also what is the difference in the single and pod baskets?? I have a gaggia new baby machine
do you have to have a special machine for these pods., I've just been grinding the whole beans (not Lavazza), and using my Krups espresso machine. Can I just stick these pods in where I would put the ground coffee. I'm not an afficiando, but I would like to try this brand. Thank you.
mjackson ♦ Stephen,
It is a good thought but these pods will only work in a machine that is meant to brew pods. Most of the machines that brew pods are going to be of the kind that have a pump, and in the description it will say pod capable. He may want to try a different storage method, such as freezing or saving in air tight container like this - http://www.wholelattelove.com/VacuVin/vacuum_coffee.cfm. Hope this helps.
