I am trying to decide on size (fl oz). If typically for daily use, the 4 cup would work nicely, but would want to break out the pot for company, would a larger pot produce as good a brew for a smaller amount? Many thanks.

Mike Russo ♦ Diana you will get the same coffee results out of any size French press pot. As long as you need to keep the coffee to water ratio the same, as well as water temperature.

I just received the "8 - 11 oz" model. It is exactly what I wanted. The size matches a glass Bonjour press I have. This size is perfect for a fairly typical coffee mug. The Frieling is very well made and high quality in all respects. It appears to be well insulated. The screen on the plunger is a nice snug fit. I recommend preheating it before use to limit unwanted cooling of your coffee as the SS heats up.

For the 22 Fl Ounce model, your site indicates that this model makes four cups of coffee. Does WLL consider a cup of coffee being 5 ounces?

Espresso Zone says their Frieling 16 oz model makes four cups of coffee based on a cup being 4 oz,

HERE'S WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: Either the model that will make at least two cups of coffee with a cup being at least 8 fl ounces, or the model that will make one 8 oz cup of coffee. Please help me identify these two models for the ones shown on your site.

Thanks

mjackson ♦ Mark,

It is a little confusing and yes a cup is considered in a french press to be 4 ounces. Here is the information from Frielings website. You will want to get the 2 cup for 8 ounces or the 4 cup for 16 ounces. I hope this helps.

Are there any plastic pieces on this press? I am looking for an all SS / metal unit including full plunger mechanism and lid (no plastic bits whatsoever).

Hi, I had a question about the Frieling French Press. It says it holds 11oz on the 2 cup, but how much will it really make once I've added my coffee grounds and the plunger. Thankyou, Kelley.

mjackson ♦ Kelly,

Good question it will make about ten ounces. The measurements for cup sizes on french presses are one cup equals 5 ounces. It is a little different but if you use the 5 ounce cup size for each cup on the french press it will help you determine what size to get.
