A A Cherine,
Both machines are great. They have their own milk carafes, adjustable spouts, and reasonably sized, and are highly programmable. They both also have removable brew groups for easy maintenance. One thing that I love about the Gran Dama is that the water reservoir is on the front of the machine, where as most machines have them on the top or back. This makes is very easy to fill if you are tight on space between your counter and your cabinets.
Michael Rosso ♦ Maria...Thank you for your interest in the DeLonghi Gran Dama 6700. This machine like all Super Automatic Espresso machines are very easy to use, and come with easy to read manuals. Thanks.
I like my steamed milk for latte's at 180 degrees. Is there a way to accomplish this on this machine or am I going to have to resort to low tech and steam it myself?

mjackson ♦ The milk will start to scald at 160 the only way to get it that hot would be to pre heat in microwave some . That is the only way I think you could get the milk that hot
Am I imagining that you used to offer an extra year's warranty for the gran dama 6700?

Michael Rosso ♦ Eileen, The DeLonghi Gran Dama 6700 comes with a 2 year warranty. The first year covers parts and labor while the second year covers parts only. The Gran Dama is a great machine and will bring you great espresso for years to come. Happy Brewing!

TechMilanoItalia Havusa, you can just fill up the tank all the way and keep using the machine until it prompts you to refill the tank.
How does this compare to the Jura-Capresso Z5 and the Gaggia Platinum Vision?

techkathy Daniel,
All three machines are the top of the line for their perspective brands. All three machines have many features such as temperature and volume control, timer, and the ability to automatically froth milk. The Z5 is the model with the least amount of maintenance needed by the user. The Vision and Gran Dama require a slightly more user cleaning but they are still high quality machines. The hottest of the three is definitely the Vision. The Gran Dama has an all stainless housing. The others are mostly plastic. Is there any feature that you are looking for in particular? Give our sales team a call and we can answer any other questions you have.
Is there a real difference between the 6700 and the 5500 Perfecta? (except the body being metal)

TechMilanoItalia The Gran Dama also has the more advanced touchscreen interface, a lot more pre-programmed drink options, a pulse-brewing mode to make a drip-style coffee, and the nicer metal housing.
What is the the main difference between the 6600 and the 6700. Would you pay $3,000 for this unit or is there others as good or better.
If someone GAVE you an automatic machine (not commercial), which one would you take?
Thanks for your honesty,
Peter

WholeLatteLoveS S The 6700 has a digital touch screen vs digital push buttons on the 6600. The 6700 also has a one-touch system for latte, cappuccino, macchiato and milk. It also has 4 porgrammable drink buttons, 2 milk and 4 coffee buttons as well as a long coffee function that elongates the brew process to replicate the taste of traditional drip coffee. The The 6700 also accommodates latte cups.
The only other machines that have one-touch milk capabilities are the Capresso Z, S9 one touch or C9 one touch.
A A Cherine,
The Gran Dama 6700 that you linked to in your question is the newest, greatest model out of Delonghi. It certainly holds it's own very well against the bigger brands like Jura, Saeco and Gaggia, and has a great look as well. The front mounted water tank is a huge plus, as is the active cup warmer up top - some features that you will not find on similar machines in this price point.
