I have a Saeco Royal Coffee Bar espresso machine. Recently it has been giving me the 'ventilate' message quite often. I am making sure to keep it very clean, but despite descaling it started giving this error so often that I cannot use the machine.
Now, ever since the last time I took out the brew unit to make sure it was clean, it's gone from telling me 'ventilate' to 'brew unit missing'.

Is this a problem I can work through myself, or will I need to send my machine in to a professional?
I use this machine for decaf espresso in my small coffee shop.

mjackson ♦ Erin,

It is hard to say exactly what the problem is. I would give our technical support team a call and thy may be able to help. It may need to be repaired.

Saeco Royal Digital Plus makes one espresso then stops.
Makes one espresso just fine but then does not allow to make another one.

mjackson ♦ I am not sure exactly what you mean. You should be able to make one espresso right after another. I do not have enough information to help you. Can you call our technical support team when you are at the machine. They perhaps can help diagnose the problem with better information.

Can you tell at what very moment should I press the size button I want to reprogram for the amount of brewed coffe I want for every size? I press the button when the coffe is being dispensed and it stops the dispensing and finish the cycle.
Thanks!

Press and hold the button you want to program. Let go of the bottom when you have the desired size. It is then programmed.

Hi! I am a new user of the Saeco Royal Coffe Bar. I want to adjust the amount of served coffe for every serving size, but can not locate this adjustment in the programing menu. Same for the Cappuchinator.
Can you tell me how to make this?

mjackson ♦ Rodolfo,

Just hold the button in on the cup you want to program and then let it go when you have the size you want and then it is programmed. The cappuciantor here is what you need to do Cappuccino programming
Whenever this function is enabled, the same
amount of cappuccino is constantly dispensed.
On the contrary, whenever this function is disabled,
cappuccino is brewed until the user stops the
dispensing. Cappuccino amount can only
be programmed with programming
mode enabled.
Press keys to move the asterisk to item
“PROG.CAPUC.”. Press ENT to activate this
function:
The following message will be displayed:
"PROG. CAPUC. "
"ON "
The keys allow you to change the set
options: “ON”, “OFF”.

My Saeco Royal Coffee Bar has been making loud clicking noises after grinding the coffee. At this point it dumps the grounds without any water coming out. I turned the amount of coffee down so that only about half the usual amount is used, and it works occassionally, otherwise it makes a sound like it's trying to compress the coffee, but then starts the loud tapping/clicking sound and again spits out the coffee. I've had it looked at and cleaned recently, but it still acts as if there is too much coffee to be compressed. If I use preground coffee, I can use a little over half the amount and then it will work, but the espresso is weak. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that a gear or something is skipping that can be replaced.
Thanks!

mjackson ♦ Phillipe,

What did the person who looked at it do. It may be a few things and try these fixes. BREW GROUP STEM INSTALLATION

The instructions below will help you if the upper filter screen on the central unit does not tighten or will not loosen.

1. Remove the central unit/brew group from your espresso machine.

2. At the top of the brew unit, you will see a black or gray stem that is about the width of a pencil. The stem is in the center of a circular well. The arrows below are pointing to the location of the stem.

3. Locate the shower screen which is at the opposite end of the stem. The shower screen usually has a Philips head screw in the center. The shower screen resembles a silver plate about the size of a silver dollar. With the stem facing you, turn the stem counterclockwise. Hold the screen steady as you continue rotating the stem counter clockwise.

4. Remove the upper filter screen and look at the screw that is protruding from the center of the screen. If there is a brass-knurled nut on the end of the screw, unthread it and set the parts aside.

5. Grab the stem firmly and pull it straight out of the central unit. You may need to use some pliers.

6. Clean the brew unit and all parts (screen etc) with some warm water.

7. Insert the new stem into the central unit. Give it a firm push into place.

8. Reinstall the upper filter screen. Tighten it back into place by turning the brew group stem clockwise. Use your fingers to tighten the stem. It should be snug, but not too tight.

a. We do not recommend using the brew unit key as it can strip the nut located on the inside of the brew unit stem. Using your fingers prevents over tightening and prevents the nut from coming out of the stem.

9. Install the central-unit back into the espresso machine.

I will also email you more things to try.

My Saeco Royal coffeebar tells me to Ventilate every time I attempt to pull a shot or do a rinsing cycle. Is there anything I can do or is this a problem that requires me to send it to a technician?

mjackson ♦ Erin,

You need to try and run a lot of hot water using the hot water feature from your steamwand. Keep running it until the message goes away. You may have something stuck in your flow meter, like a piece of scale and it needs to get unstuck. This may take a lot of water. It usually happens after you descale. Or you may need to descale again. I hope this helps and if not give our technical support team a call.

I would like to purchase the Saeco Royal Coffee Bar,but want to plumb it (that is why I chose this particular machine over the rest). How is it plumbed? Do you have to purchase a special kit in order to plumb it. We have two copper water lines available that we could tap into (refrig and dishwasher). Can you do it or would a plumber have to come in (is it really complicated?? Please answer quickly as I would love to purchase this machine while it is on sale at the $1200-plus price. Thanks. mjackson ♦ Jill,

It is a little different then what you may expect. It basically is about the same size as a garden hose attachment. I am sure you could do it but it will take some expansion pieces to make it work.If you go to your local hardware store and talk to them and let them know what you are trying to do you should be all set. I agree to order now as it is a great price. We also have had great luck with the performance and durability of this machine. Let us know if you have any more questions.

What does it mean when the coffee really struggle to come out and you have already cleaned the brewing unit, grinder, and have descaled the machine regularly?

The dredge is also very fine and wet and a there is a lot of water than accumulates in the drip tray.

The unit I have is the Royal Digital Plus.

Thanks for your time! I am having major coffee withdrawal!

I am going to give you instructions on cleaning the grinder and one other part you may want to try as well called the check ball on the brew group. These should help. If not give us a call. Actually since there are pictures I will email you all the information.
