My Bosch is 3 yrs old, but the descale button has never lit up so I've never descaled it. How do I go about starting the descaling program myself when the descale ring is not illuminated?? The manual doesn't help at all. (I DO run the clean program each time I change the filter.)

Michael Rosso ♦ Thi, According to the manual you can manually initiate the descal cycle by pressing and holding the descal button for 3 seconds. The machine will prompt you through the steps on the LCD screen. Make sure that you have the appropriate descaling solution such as cleancalf before you start the cycle. If you need the descaling solution you can find it on our site. http://www.wholelattelove.com/Urnex/cleancaf.cfm Happy brewing!
I use water filter and the machine has not asked yet to be descaled. The manual states that the machine should be descaled even if the descaled message is not displayed.
My question is how do I initiate the descaling process if the machine does not explicitly ask for it.
Similar question for the cleaning program... Everything works fine when the machine wants to be cleaned (when the ring around the clean button is lit). But is it possible to enter the cleaning program on demand.
Thank you very much in advance,
Eugene Johnson

TechMilanoItalia Eugene, according to the manual for the product, you can initiate each cycle by pressing and holding the appropriate button for 3 seconds. In either case, the machine will prompt you through the steps for each process via instructions displayed on the LCD screen. Make sure you have the proper cleaning tablets or descaling solution on hand before starting. If you need those products or further assistance, please contact Bosch at: 1-800-944-2904
Is this machine all steel or are there aluminum parts?
Are there all stainless steel machines out there?

Whole Latte Love Staff The Bosch B20s boiler is made of stainless steel-lined aluminum, so the water does not come directly in contact with aluminum when it is heated. We do have other machines that have stainless steel boilers as well, like the Gaggia Titanium and Titanium SS (which also has stainless steel housing), the Saeco Incanto Rapid Steam SBS, and the Jura Capresso Z5. You can learn more about these machines by following the links below and compare them side-by-side by clicking on our link for the Compare-O-Matic.
With the filtration system does this machine still need to be decalcified everyone in a while?

Whole Latte Love Staff Technically, the water filter prevents scale from building up in your boiler, so you dont really need to descale. However, it is always a good idea to do so anyway to make sure everythings in tip-top shape. For descaling, wed recommend using Urnex Cleancaf, which you can pruchase from our website by following the link below or by calling us at 888-411-5282.
Whole Latte Love Staff There are only a few differences between these 2 machines, the main one being the control panel. The B30 features a digital display that will tell you in plain English (or the language of your choice, you have 8 different options) when the water reservoir or bean hopper need to be refilled, when the dump box needs to be emptied, and when to descale the machine. The digital display also gives you control of your brewing temperature, as well as water hardness settings, two features not found on the B20.
Instead of a digital display, the B20 has several backlit icons that alert you when maintenance need to be performed, but without the ease of simple language.
I can't figure out if either of the Bosch Benvenuto machines include a water line-in hookup. Do they? If not, do you carry a similar machine that includes a grinder and water line?

Whole Latte Love Staff Neither the B20 nor the B30 have a water line hook-up - they both have 64oz removable water reservoirs that must be refilled when they are empty. The only super automatic we carry that does have the ability to be plumbed to a water line is the Saeco Royal Coffee Bar, which you can learn more about by following the link below.
Whole Latte Love Staff The Bosch B20s dimensions are 13.5"H x 10.75"W x 19"D. Information like this can be found for any of our machines by following the link below to our Compare-O-Matic.
Which Claris water filter should I buy as a replacement for my Bosch machine? I do not have the original anymore. Also, which cleaning tablets should I purchase?

Whole Latte Love Staff Both Bosch super automatics (the B20 and B30) use the #7525 Claris water filters (in the RED package) and Jura cleaning tablets. You can purchase these items by either following the links listed below or by calling us at 888-411-5282. Information like this can be found for all of the machines we carry by clicking on the link below for our Machine Maintenance page.
I recently bought the Bosch Benvenuto B20 and am very satisfied with the purchase. I am using the Claris water filter, but I cannot find anywhere in my instructions what number the filter should be set on. There is a dial on the filter with the numbers 1-10. Can someone enlighten me?

Whole Latte Love Staff The dial on the water filter is simply an indicator to remind you when to change the filter in case you havent activated the filter through the machines internal computer. The numbers actually go from 1 to 12, each representing a calendar month.

mjackson ♦ Irina,
It actually is made in Germany. It is a well built machine. It also make a very good coffee.
